The German speaking community is highly decentralized however a common branding is "Einundzwanzig" ("Twentyone").
They developed this Nostr based app

which helps to find and organize a local meetup.
Among other things it solves one particuar problem: In person P2P Bitcoin trades at a meetup. You build a reputation by visiting meetups and get cryptographic proof by others therefore generating a web of trust.
So it helps the community converging meetspace and cyberspace.

In the first week of @nprofile…n66j, @nprofile…205a made a great talk to set the tone of the cohort of what's to build in the spirit of bitcoin. @nprofile…s0t0 also presented FIPS (https://fips.network), which was the first time I heard about it.
Fips is a transport agnostic mesh networking protocol that solves problems from IPs. Instead of a hierarchical network, we get a flat horizontal network that can reorganize once a path gets blocked or a better path surges. Although it can substitute IPs, it also works with IPs to be backwards compatible.
For the first week I decided to finally implement a protocol I created in 2024. Granola is a protocol for making atomic swaps of cashu tokens. Using Granola, you can trade, e.g., cUSD and cSAT (can be any denomination) coordinated over Nostr DMs using ephemeral keys, be them from same or different mints.

Freiheitstechnologie braucht eine Werkbank
GM! Jan-Paul war letzte Woche beim Sovereign Engineering Cohort 08 auf Madeira zu Besuch. Er hat zwar nicht mal die Hälfte von dem verstanden, was die Entwickler dort machen. Aber ihre Begeisterung für nostr und seine Möglichkeiten war in jedem Gespräch zu spüren.
Während dieser Gespräche kam auf, dass eine offene Werkstatt mit 3D-Drucker, Werkbank, Werkzeugen, Chips, Platinen und weiteren Bauteilen eine sinnvolle Ergänzung wäre. Freiheitstechnologie ist eben nicht nur Software, sondern auch Hardware. Und die Location ist auch schon vorhanden: im nostr office in Funchal https://nostroffice.nobios.ai/.
Nodesignal hat sich deshalb dafür entschieden, 1 Mio Sats für die offene Werkstatt im nostr office zu spenden. Die Crew-Mitglieder haben dann nochmal 1,5 Mio Sats aus der eigenen Tasche dazugegeben. Insgesamt sind jetzt schon 3 Mio Sats in das Projekt geflossen.
