Maybe I'm not being totally accurate.
Matt excels in providing convenient, easily digestible packaged sound bites for other maxis. Maybe he isn't exactly an idiot himself, but he treats his audience like they're idiots. He studiously avoids speaking on any kind of nuance or complicated trade-offs that require discernment. Neither will he engage in any sort of public discussion regarding complexity.
He strikes me as completely opportunistic, a legacy fiat guy who found Bitcoin and thinks he's doing the right thing using his platform to manipulate people into following him.
That's just why I don't like him. I could go into why I think his conclusions about Bitcoin are wrong but it's a separate subject.
That said,
attack surfaces are finite and people are smart.

Whats risky about Monero that isn't risky about coinjoins?
I haven't seen it clearly said yet.
Monero doesn't use proof-caching like Liquid does. Therefore, it is not susceptible to the same kind of attack.
The Liquid hack was briefly mentioned in the tech meeting yesterday in a "hey this is kind of interesting" way.
#monero #bitcoin

Its a tough "get your head out of your ass" love.
Thats what im saying.
You've got a transparent channel open and the 1st hop can see the 2nd. How would you structure this?
Obviously you're taking a decade or so to move it all through lol
How would this work though?
You get e-cash and use LN to come out to a Utxo?
Do we trust the mint to not notice it's the stolen BTC and rug us?
Built a privacy stack builder
https://privacystack.rocks
122 tools, 27 slots. Every one has to pass a written admission policy: FOSS or source-first, E2EE where it matters, badges for no phone #, no account, pays in XMR, audited, reproducible.
Pick yours, share it as a link. The stack lives in the URL fragment, never on a server.
No backend, no tracking, no CDN, CSP locked down.
Tor mirror: http://73zofwr6jvnvriyd5mxq5oneli657btt5pi5xiwqvys55fa7pozmhdad.onion
Pool and presets are YAML in a public repo, AGPL + CC BY-SA. Build fails if a tool breaks the policy, so a PR is the admission process.

Its not a new phenomenon. In the bull nobody spends because they expect it to still go higher.
The incentives are against MoE usage.
You cant fight the incentives.
Lol
"I told you somewhere else bro, trust me"
You're a fucking LARP and dont have the plums to get into it.
You don't know what a shitcoin is.
Kyced Bitcoin is a shitcoin.
Get the conversations straight.
This thread right here is about RBF
and mempool policy. Where Bitcoin is more unreliable due to RBF.
This here is NOT talk about an adversary being able to attack and reorg the chain.
Which is obviously easier on a Monero than Bitcoin and nobody said otherwise.
We are all using payment targets homie
Yeah
I DO live in the woods.
Maybe get used to the fact that some of us live this and avoid 3rd party footprints as much as possible.
If my exchange counterparty requires identification that is a decision I can make.
But even if I decide to transact with that person, there are still good reasons to use payment network that does not require identification.
Your "fuck it, the merchant requires ID so it doesn't matter" attitude is defeatist.
It doesn't seem to offer anything that some other chain doesn't do better.
Why should I care about that particular history of transactions?
👍
random non sequitur FUD is non sequitur and random.
The difference between me and you is that I know what I'm talking about
and your autistically reeeeing "SHITCOINER" because you saw someone mention Monero.
Tell me why monero is a shitcoin.
I'll wait.
The only one sharing fiat charts is you bro.
"but muh bitcoin number go up" isnt really a great argument ever.
and particularly not recently.
Yeah none of that had anything to do with what I said.
Thanks for playing!
You mean because users will always use new sub addresses and never reuse addresses at all?
Because if they do and it's all out in the open, their address reuse is degrading the entire privacy of the network.
Iow, *your privacy is dependent upon how other people are using the network.
Which is NOT the case if the transaction graph is simply hidden by default.
That is why Monero hides the transaction graph.
I don't care if the government knows that I donated $10 or $10,000 to wikileaks, I don't want them to know I donated to wikileaks at all.
hey look
he did the thing

Structure fire on the road below my property and the damn PD wont let me go home!
Tail emission is just a better monetary policy.
But I understand being resentful that they are trying to sneak it in a disingenuous way.
tfw you support somebody elses wrong conclusion just because they agree with you
Neither of y'all have done your research.
The argument is "Bitcoin was always going to change the system from within" right?
I'm just asking how you can be confident that institutional purchase will have any positive effect anywhere.
I have a self-hosted lnadr instance that calls back to my node. I took it down after the BTCpay problems last week.
Appreciate the thought.
Nice FUD there bro.
Corrupting Monero isn't the same as attacking it.
The group that did the selfish-mining-attack, were NOT able to have a sustained 51% attack. There is a paper that has all the data about that incident: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2512.01437
That the attacker abused an inflation bug is complete nonsense. The only inflation bug that was found was many years ago, got fixed immediately and the research trying to check for an actual usage of that inflation bug found basically nothing. https://www.moneroinflation.com/
I don't want to speculate why you're spreading this level of FUD, but maybe do some actual research next time.
Also all Monero devs that have more rights have build trust with the community over years. Ontop of that every major/important code change gets audited from third parties before it gets deployed to mainnet.
Lol
do you remember how rude youve been to me about monero?
weird
nocoiners say exactly the same thing to bitcoiners
Not really.
Its just that none of our feelings are more important that seeing the world clearly.
My bank still doesn't support 2fa
There's only one way to use dice afaik. And only a few ways they could have statistical tendencies.
But it doesn't matter,
256 bits of entropy isn't hard to find. Whether you do it in meatspace or online, either way is random and it's not getting broken.
maaaybe
mostly its funny to see laser so pissed off.
Probably because Coinkite has been around since 2013ish
Excuse me
but thats stupid.
Exactly NOWHERE does toxic maximalism create any incentive for people to audit the

If you think "what I'm using and why I like it " isn't influenced by the producer of the product identifying as the same social group as yourself,
you're not as smart as you seem.
Man
If they were competent they wouldn't fall back to weak entropy
This is pretty basic shit.
Except in this case the RNG wasn't broken.
So.
A hardware wallet vendor implementation failure doesn't say anything about the underlying asset.
