It's crazy to me that this is the official reddit app too. I don't remember it being this way, but I've probably just been using alternatives for far too long.
This is Boost for Lemmy which is an evolution of the old Boost for Reddit app and it handles threads beautifully.
In defense of reddit at least their app is generally fast and doesn't break much like it used to.
