Actually, I stopped using BitTorrent years ago—it’s a nightmare having to go to websites to search for things, or use private trackers, and so on.
With eMule, I just hit the search button and that’s it.

Because Alien: Isolation scares you with a predator.
The Bed of ECAI scares you with a verifier.

ECAI hunts the lie inside the system.
That’s more terrifying because you can hide from Alien. You can crawl under a desk, hold your breath, watch the motion tracker, pray the vents stay quiet.
But in the Bed of ECAI, the horror is that the system already knows your behaviour.
The scary mechanic is not “monster appears.”
It is:
Every false assumption becomes executable.
Every hidden bug becomes alive.
Every shortcut you took starts breathing in the walls.
The player enters a luxury medical/research bed wired into a verification engine. At first it looks like healing: diagnostics, dream therapy, memory repair, nervous-system reconstruction. Then the bed begins replaying the player’s own choices as test cases.
The room does not chase you.
The room proves you.
Alien: Isolation: “It heard you.”
Bed of ECAI: “It understood you.”
The horror loop:
You wake up strapped in.
A soft voice says: “Scenario failed.”
The room resets.
The wound is different.
The evidence remains.
No jump scare can beat the terror of a machine that refuses hallucination and calmly says:
“Your story does not pass.”

ALIEN ISOLATION made the vent scary.
THE BED OF ECAI makes the truth scary.
The monster does not hunt you.
The verification does.
Every lie becomes executable.
Every shortcut grows teeth.
Every failed test wakes up in the room with you.
You cannot hide from the predator
when the predator is correctness.
Alien hunts flesh.

I was also heavy edonkey network user almost from the beginning - there were so good movie sharing forums! Had my own dedicated computer for sharing my ripped movie releases probably 10 years or so. When Inlasted checked, the servers were totally useless and somekind of chinese or whatever spammers everywhere. But I’ll check out this new client, I’m curious are some of my movie releases still around.

That was pre financialization back when businesses were about making things instead of moving money. In that context it might have made more sense to declare yourself an Acme Machine manufacturer than declare your bank.

Bitcoin wouldn't die but being able to use it locally would for a long while. Most people locally wouldn't accept it even if I had a backup bitchat-cashu-type setup. As things rebuild, after the worst, trade definitely resumes before the infrastructure is all back. There's a LOT of nuance to shtf scenarios that I'm not writing a manual on here. BTC is still the VAST majority of my net worth (outside of home equity) and I believe in it more than anything else except Jesus. I'm just saying, few people go from not understanding money straight to BTC.
