Choice is nice and all, but there's also no way to make an informed or correct choice of which relays to use. Forcing every user to choose relays is an antipattern imo. Forcing users to use a single set of relays is an antipattern.
The third option which doesn't exist is the right one and the one no dev will pursue: relays that actually relay notes to their destinations and pull notes that are destined for them.
I'm so old there wasn't a McDonald's and my memory of Wetson's "orange" drink is still fresh...

The trending relay from wisp has been integrated as a relay feed on the home page. I sped up a lot of the feeds and did some bug-fixing. Never run out of bugs to fix. I also added a universal note creator, to join the universal editor. So, use my app to publish, clone, or replace anything you want.

Sadly, society isn't offering much for young people anymore. Lots of shit is broken.

OpenStreetMaps has lots of offline maps you can put on an Android tablet. And you can download Wikipedia pages for a lot of the locations on the maps.
i took a wide and deep haitus from nostr and am visiting it much more sparingly now. much better.
in the future i hope to use it purely as Other Stuff applications and close to zero "social feed" scrolling. as the ecosystem develops this will become easiar.

It's the grind. The devs almost all bow out in the medium term because of the never-ending grind. AI doesn't stop the grind; it makes it more relentless and gives you more code and infrastructure to grind.

I can't seem to sign in. It lets me roll a random profile but no signing in with my keys. Some of the buttons just don't work.
My only problem with that is it means my score and streaks are all messed up so @nprofile…mjzq is smug about being better than me even though he isn't.
