Looking forward to checking out that discussion. It definitely feels counterproductive for independent explorers to move toward centralized solutions. "Convenience" was always the carrot that led us astray in the legacy world.
It's actually a bit odd that none of the NWC alternatives support keysend. I'm no expert on the topic, but from what I can gather, it should be a fairly simple addition to the wallets that already exist, and an important one. Maybe the real issue is fear of being attacked by the legacy world, because with integrated keysend, we start becoming uncomfortably liberated. I have no idea, but very little surprises me these days.
Another topic that would be interesting to discuss is how to make the v4v model work better. As you know very well, it doesn't work great for music. Yes, we're still early, but I have a feeling that more time alone won't solve the challenge. At the moment, it's largely musicians supporting musicians. 🙂
If we want to bring more artists over from "the other side," it would help tremendously if we could also become a real alternative for people who are already getting streams from places like Spotify. Everyone knows they pay almost nothing, but I still make more from Spotify in one day than I do in the v4v space in a month.
I'm still investing a lot of time here because it makes so much sense, and I firmly believe this is where the future is headed. However, that belief alone won't make it an easy sell.
The solution is probably within our reach, even if it isn't clearly visible yet. It's great that this panel discussion will shine a light on some of our current challenges so the bright minds in this space can come together and brainstorm.

There is mining in ethereum but it’s still a shitcoin. The blockchain problem is the same with bitcoin. It can’t complete transactions for everyone so it needs a layer two. Devs are building out lightning for bitcoin to fix this. Without lightning, bitcoin wouldn’t be able to scale either.

Many universities also do research to expand knowledge. AI largely just regurgitates what's already known. And people don't exactly seem to be getting smarter, so it doesn't seem that simple anyway. I lost count of how many times I caught AI bullshitting during my undergrad. I was able to catch it because I wasn't clueless, which is exactly what people will be if everyone just asks AI questions without going any deeper elsewhere. I have many issues with some schools and the people they are churning out, but I don't think AI is a viable replacement for institutions dedicated to deepening human knowledge and experience. Should those institutions change? I think so.
