The future of Nostr is a BIP39/Bip44 NSEC derived wallet where users can receive, & send tips via client with atomic swaps, & api-protocol compatibility with fiat interfaces.
If I tip person in currency a they’ll receive preferred currency b on the backend, or if they don’t have a preference they’ll receive a currency 1:1, & then they can use any wallet to interface with these funds if the client doesn’t have a native wallet for non-tipping purposes.

The core of protection comes from established principles within both agency law and contract law. These principles are designed to prevent the imposition of obligations or relationships—such as agency (acting for another) or servitude (being compelled to serve)—without true consent, knowledge, or lawful basis. Here’s how they work:
1. Agency Requires Voluntary Agreement (No Presumed Agent Status)
Principle: Agency is a fiduciary relationship. It can only exist by valid contract—meaning clear offer, acceptance, consideration, intention, capacity, and certainty. (See Nash v Inman [1908] 2 KB 1 for the contract burden, and basic agency law.)
Equity maxim: “Equity will not compel acceptance of a trust.” No one can be forced into a fiduciary (agency/trustee) role without their explicit acceptance and full disclosure.
Protection:
You cannot be presumed to be an agent for a legal/statutory person or entity without your conscious agreement. Any presumption that you act as agent is invalid unless a valid contract can be produced.
2. Burden of Proof Is On The Asserting Party
Contract law: If someone (especially the state or a statutory body) claims you are bound as agent or owe a duty under a contract, they bear the burden of proving that a contract exists with all its required elements.
Practice: If you challenge such a presumption, they must produce the actual contract. Conduct alone (such as responding as “the person” or acting out of habit) is not enough—no contract, no agency.
Protection:
This means you never have to prove a negative (that you didn’t agree); the claimant must prove the positive (that you did).
3. No Valid Contract = No Involuntary Obligation
Contract law principle: An obligation can only arise from real agreement. You cannot be bound to an onerous or servile role (e.g., servitude, forced work, or representation) unless you have voluntarily agreed to it in fact and in law.
Servitude: If rights to your time, labour, or property are claimed without lawful judgment, instrument, or agreement, this is a constitutional violation (Magna Carta Ch.39 in the UK; 13th Amendment in the US prohibiting involuntary servitude).
Protection:
Any attempt to impose a legal or statutory duty on you, when it’s only backed by a presumption or your supposed identity (not an actual agreement), can be challenged and defeated.
4. Equity Forbids Enforcement By Concealment or Presumption
Maxims: “Equity will not aid a volunteer,” “he who comes to equity must come with clean hands,” and “fraud vitiates everything.”
Application: If the state or anyone else tries to impose duties by concealment (not telling you the genuine nature of the arrangement) or mere presumption (not actual agreement), equity blocks enforcement.
Protection:
You cannot be lawfully made a servant or agent just because someone says so, or based on assumptions drawn from your conduct—if there was never true agreement or conscious acceptance.

(Jokes aside, I personally like Onchain payments/zaps/tips with Silent Payments using Npub derived seeds, it’s very cool, & I think it would consolidate Nostr a lot more even if it’s complex)
I want Nostr to be competitive with things like X where one account does everything.
But we have to start somewhere.
I find it a bit ridiculous that you need to sign up for Alby/CoinOs, etc. do NWC, & generate a NSEC to zap.
I think the wisp/primal approach to having an insta NSEC, and wallet together is a better experience for beginners.
It’d be cool to see it implemented with BIP-39 so one Nostr NSec could have a wallet derived for Bitcoin cash, litecoin, etc. but I’m not holding my breath on that ever happening since reee “shitcoins”.
When I started off I had no clue about how to do zaps until I saw a Derek Tutorial because people kept harassing me to set up zaps.
Payment targets is the solutions Nostr needs for now until we can find the funding/engineers, and institutional power, and control to make all the apis, and protocols work together on the backend.

We need Npub derived silent payments over payment targets in a Zaps like manner.
The future of payment targets is being able to zap/tip person in currency A, and they get zapped/tipped in their preferred currency B on the backend.
A zap on Nostr ideally would translate to a kofi tip in fiat, or a stripe tip would ideally translate to a Monero tip, or a Dogecoin sent would translate to a LN/Onchain BTC, etc.
Worse case scenario it stays 1:1 but payment targets is an amazing step, and if we settle on that it’ll keep the network stable since it’s what’s needed since most bios aren’t copy/pastable for some reason 🙃.
