Doing transactions using your own node is one of the best ways to support BIP-110 and the Bitcoin network in general. You can do on-chain transactions for:
*Coinjoin (highest impact, lots of transactions, improves privacy of you and other ppl)

*Go to the NOSTR marketplace and find people selling food, clothes, gadgets and other fun and/or necessary things.
*Open a (or several) lightning channel(s).
*Donate to a charity using The Giving Block
*Give Bitcoin as a gift at birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, etc.
*Donate to Thomas Massie's re-election campaign.
*Give BTC as tips for various services.
*Give BTC to friends instead of Venmo when you go out to eat, etc.

I have a small tweak coming for deep-linked notifications, but I’ve been running with this branch on Zap Cooking Android and Wisp iOS all day and it’s hard not to like this.

Selective enforcement that tracks institutional fashions more reliably than consistent principles.
A growing distance between the people who experience the platform and the people who police it.
The quiet replacement of individual responsibility and community standards with top-down rules.
The alternative isn’t chaos or zero moderation. It’s narrower, more transparent, more accountable intervention—mostly around clear legal violations, spam, and direct threats—combined with tools that let users and communities sort the rest for themselves. That model doesn’t need heroic “Trust and Safety” departments; it needs less paternalism and more sunlight.The phrase itself reveals the mindset: we will keep you safe from your own choices, and you will thank us for the trust we extend in our own direction. It’s not a partnership. It’s management.
