Yeah a few days before it all goes down I would force close and settle everything on chain if I was carrying any real liquidity. For me I'll just empty my zap channel to a custodial wallet and Zeus can pay to force close the channel on their end if they want to. I'm not paying fees for that small change.

BIP110 is a power play. Since the devs abandoned their historical duty to take care of the protocol, users stepped forward to take the ball. And because Core did not port BIP110 to its client, after BIP110 most people and businesses will eventually have to upgrade to Knots to continue having the full validation set. The result is that the majority of the network returns to a tighter default policy, with filters updated regularly and shipped in every new release, roughly every 3 to 6 months.
When the fork expires, policy takes over - but this time it works and is updated frequently. Spammers probably anticipate this, which is why they are so concerned. If all they had to do was move to another opcode or multisig, they wouldn’t be fighting tooth and nail against a BIP they keep calling stupid and dead on arrival.
