75% of all physical dollars are contaminated by drugs. If you limit it to smaller denominations, it’s 95%. If you accept a tainted coin, you can have your ability to buy and sell Bitcoin revoked at exchanges. It is very common. If you accept a tainted dollar, you can guarantee that you will be able to spend it.
You cannot compete and have money that is crippled by a lack of fungibility. Vendors cannot be confident in their sophistication to comply with increasingly bizarre and byzantine restrictions based on the lack of blockchain fungibility, nor weather the storms of random asset freezes and seizures, when dollars are guaranteed legal tender, even though *virtually all of them are literally physically tainted by the drug transactions they were a party to*.
A non-fungible Bitcoin will never be money, because it fails the basic utility test against the utility of dollars. Because dollars have their fungibility legally enforced.
