I never realized the fun in collecting mint plants. Recently acquired a bunch of different types that I have transplanted into my perennial garden. Sweet mint, citrus mint, licorice mint, raspberry bee balm, lemon balm, and cat nip. I have put the really aggressive ones in bottomless buckets that are submerged to try and contain them. I could get into some black magic and run screen inside of tmux...but that'd involve some careful configuration to avoid any overlap with my keys. I already remapped ctrl+b to ctrl+a for tmux because it's just a lot easier to actually hit without lifting hands.

Playing around with tmux this morning, and just learned that my issues with split panes weren't just a learning curve issue -- it just doesn't behave as flexibly as GNU Screen does for the way that I tend to operate with multiple split panes in a long terminal window beneath my browser/discord. I can split a pane just fine, but toggling back and forth between one while leaving the other in place just becomes a mess.
Honestly pretty surprised given that people seemed to rave about tmux and screen seemed all but left for dead, but I may be heading back. There do seem to be some features tmux has that I get why others like but being able to like, leave an irssi window up on the left as i cycle between other panes on the right is just a really smooth way to live. I could play with a separate urxvt window of course, but that actually does end up getting weird with i3, having vertical splits across two horizontal splits. I think it's doable but the hotkeys always end up getting me lost when I try to get that cute. Anyone else out there swear by screen instead of tmux? Am I missing something?
