My desktop CPU makes about 20-30 cents worth of #Monero per day mining with half the available threads on the decentralized P2Pool protocol. Being able to participate economically in the network to any small degree with general purpose computing hardware is a network advantage.
Having to purchase specialized hardware of limited supply from a few select manufacturers is not an advantage. Having the vast majority of hashrate dominated by a few large companies is not an advantage.
Bitcoin mining is broken. Bitcoin is captured because Bitcoin mining is captured. The means exist to ban transactions from anonymous wallets. All that is required is for the opinion of government to change, and the government can pressure the vast majority of hashrate to exclude unapproved transactions. You might pay a high enough fee and wait for the North Koreans to mine a block, but then who's to say the US financial regulators won't order the mining cartel to orphan that block?

That's an issue with saying "we've found problems". Yeah, great. Now you'll have to leave us hanging and guessing what trap we're going to fall in to next while you try and contact developers and they try to create fixes. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Я бы и профили не использовал если б не стали появляться законопроекты по анализу телеметрии и вводу ограничений на основе этого анализа.
Понятно, что спецслужбы и раньше эту телеметрию в своих целях использовали, но для меня одно дело если майор знает, что я Reddit установил, и совсем другое, если мне бутылку кефира не пробьют из-за наличия Telegram у меня на смартфоне.
