Understandable tho, timer is a good element in an arcade game and if the game doesn't deliver an arcade experience, a timer is shit game design. Take Rayman 3 for example, it's a collectaton game but with "score and combo" mechanics, a complete retard design choice.
Of course, I'm not including time management mechanic like we see in Atelier
