You might be surprised to learn that’s not a major sticking point for most people, who already trust Google and Apple to store all their other private data for them.
I think I have solved how to do deep threads the right way without the dreaded nested pages.
Implementing this in @nprofile…47c0 mobile first. Stay tuned.

Which is why organizing so we can pool resources and take more ownership back is so important 🥰
Realistically, it hasn’t been around long enough to tell, and Nostr statistics are notoriously hard to verify anyway. I’m all for giving people options and letting them choose.

If I started loading my milkshake with hard liquor, then we're all in trouble 😂
It's not for current Nostr users, it's for everyone else who won't join because private key management too alien to them.
I met you on twitter and now we are here. Do you use nostr?
What a good man taking charge of that type of situation 💪
Growing up the tradition was that at the age of reason (7) you're given your first knife which is both an important tool and added protection. Because even the littlest bee needs to be able to sting sometimes.

I grew up in the "good old boy" network as well. I also didn't fit in. I know first hand what asses they can be if you don't know how to relate to them 😂
But also, they are some of the most sincere, loyal, hardworking and good hearted men you could ever hope to meet.

I am getting an error in my Dms and I am unable to reply to messages I receive. Seems I don't have the proper relays. Maybe old links. Any suggestions?
It's a wonderful, magical place where you might catch charges for walking home after 3 drinks 😱😂
I'm planting roots and staying, I love it here. It just is what it is and I want to be honest about the realities for people who don't know 🤣

Well 1) if you build it they will come, have faith. 2) the folks I was talking to yesterday were saying that their permaculture workshops they're hosting in recent years is almost entirely tech folks fleeing the cities. And 3) @nprofile…fcep has been working on A to B logistics creating a network of like minded folks driving everywhere to help transport things like Oshi butter or Great Ghee from the South to North. It's my hope to tempt the brains to come out on the same network to teach the cypher punk stuff to us folks out in the more rural spaces! That's why I want to host more, to make that network vibrant. The more nodes in that network the more we can make the network of citadel communities strong!

Where I'm at skews a lot older. When I was back in Seattle I found myself randomly talking to a man from South Carolina and we were both thinking of moving back South/East because random friendly stranger conversations happen, and that wasn't really socially acceptable in Seattle region in my experience. He started teasing me that I wanted to be where old white people were which was funny because it was true, I told him it was my aspiration to one day become an old white person myself so I didn't see any shame in that 🤣
But that being said there's plenty of young folks in the Shenandoah Valley who want to be here and are figuring out ways to make it happen for themselves and their peers. Yesterday I met up with some very sweet young folks who asked me to come discuss their idea for an "intentional community". It turned into a really magical conversation because I finally said, oh you're really talking about like a coliving pod space for digital nomads and the like who want to learn permaculture skills! I told them about trust arrangements and what I've heard of others doing to accomplish their goals.
Even without the digital nomad angle, there's things like WOOFing already established in the Valley. I think Nostr has some projects in the works like Housestr that could step in to help organize these types of logistics. I'm purposefully setting up my own home so I have guest spaces for folks. I think this is going to be the way to help people live very cheaply so that they can one day contribute resources to land purchases and hopefully host their own young folks.
So I do submit for your consideration of moving: the Shenandoah Valley. We're geographically protected on all sides by the Appalachian and Blue Ridge mountains, making for gorgeous hiking and swimming opportunities. Cities like Staunton are small enough that I could walk from one end to another, densely packed with fantastic restaurants and cafes. And then within a 15 minutes drive it is country-country. We're far enough away from the megalopolis on the seaboard that when SHTF the zombie hordes would have a hard time reaching us, but close enough that I can still get to an airport for a business trip.
There's still poison ivy and humidity, although I find it bareable and better than when I lived in more lowlands. There's a problematic "good old boy" culture especially around the police and justice providers (I've even had my own run-ins with this 🤯). This place is not perfect but neither am I. Even with the down sides I think there is rich and fertile soil for building something amazing!
Come help us build a citadel community 🥰

corporate housing schemes collapsing is more of a bellwether for the economy than anything else - you need to understand these ghost sundown towns become social problems and civic problems, and the corporate goon mercs just leave and the abandoned, radicalized populations become entitlement and policing burdens. offboarding by corporate structures INCREASES civil unrest because it increases desperation. and understand remote work does not require corporate housing needs to be centralized like this - many communes are spread out across cities and regions in seemingly unrelated ways. but they are domestic terrorists - and they target citizens and locals everywhere they move. corporations do not eradicate their unwashed goons - they simply pull out and stop funding them. and most have no skills or social capabilities - and most are grifters at various expectations of lifestyle. the more comfort the actors were accustomed to, the more extreme their leftism.

📰 **In this week's issue:**
🗞️ **BREAKING**
What Happened This Week In The Nostr World
You probably think Nostr is just another decentralized Twitter clone that peaked in early 2025. The W3C Nostr Community Group just published did:nostr v0.1.0 as an official draft report—with over 30 implementations already in the wild. But here's what nobody's telling you: while everyone's watching centralized platforms stumble, the protocol quietly dropped four major NIP updates in five days, including an end-to-end encryption proposal that makes Signal look dated. Keep reading, because what happened this week suggests the infrastructure for the next generation of the internet is being built right now—and most people haven't even noticed.*
