I had an N64 for about two years. For the longest time, I only had GoldenEye cause I bought the console specifically so that my college friends and I could have some fun. But once the pandemic came around, I didn't have much use for the N64 so I sold it.
I never really cared for the N64 tbh. I've always been more of a PlayStation kind of guy when it comes to 5th gen consoles

I had connection issues with online matches back in 2021. I don't remember if KI 2013 has rollback but I was playing around the time I was playing a fighter that had rollback and I think I was just spoiled by how the feature made online matches smooth even when the connection weakened.
I'm sure the base single player mode is quite alright. I just don't enjoy playing many fighters offline unless I'm playing against another human player.

I can't remember if I sold my Killer Instinct SNES cart but I remember thinking it was the coolest fighter ever. I loved how there was virtually no load times and you kept your life bar the same from round to round (unless you lost ofc). Riptor was my favorite character.
I've played the reboot from 2013 on Steam but I still like the SNES game more. Never played KI 2 or KI Gold on N64

I think the real issue is that folks come over to mastodon from places like X/Twitter and other mainstream social media platforms and don't understand how a federated system works so those folks just move over to mastodon.social because they don't know any better. I never joined that instance not just because a good chunk of the mastodon community would be lost if mastodon.social ever went down, but also because I felt it could be a potential cesspool since anyone could join it

I have finally fully switched to #Vivaldi. Been using Brave 🤮 cause for whatever reason Vivaldi on mobile (specifically Android) doesn't support grouped tabs, but Brave on Android does. But today, I was hit with "wanna try out the AI" on Brave and I was like hell no. Vivaldi was always a backup on my phone but now it's set to my default browser on my phone and Brave is no longer installed.

Check your #3DS battery if you haven't in a long time. Went to turn on my softmodded #2DS after being neglected for a couple of years. The #battery was shot. After a bit of charging, I'd turn it on. Blue light appears for a few seconds and then turns off with no screen activity. Thankfully I can pick a new one up for cheap and it's dead simple to change the battery. #nintendo

every major search engine I've used unfortunately has AI but I feel DuckDuckGo is the least offensive. It's the one Vivaldi defaults to and I've pretty much had no issues for the last 3 years. The only discrepancy I've noticed is that sometimes you can put the same search in both Google and DuckDuckGo and get slightly different results, usually with which sites appear at the top first.

has anyone successfully installed a #Linux distro on a #Macbook Pro 2010 (macbook 7,1)? I want to triple boot Snow Leopard, Windows XP, and a linux distro (preferably Debian-based) but I'm having issues with installation, either generic/unknown errors or GRUB won't #install
I'm new to manual partitioning, so maybe I'm missing something past the usual ext4 partition and the swap partition.

In the near future I'd love to learn VB. It'd be neat to make simple programs for Win9x. Saving this article for later. If you use the reader mode built into most browsers, it's a bit easier to read but anything that is part of the animations is lost ofc.

I've worked at a few places that had the credit card stamper but I never had the pleasure of using it since it was only to be used if the credit card system or the power went down.
Wish proper small computer stores were a thing when I was growing up. There's plenty of computer repair shops that'll build you a system but long gone are the days of RadioShack (pre-cellular days) and CompUSA. Closest I've ever had to anything like a computer store would be Circuit City, Best Buy, or Staples

apparently whatever is in the USA is a reboot cause it was in the US in the 90s and early 2000s but then was discontinued and later brought back in 2015 or so. Not sure if that was only in the US or Clearly Canadian as a whole.

single card download play was perfect for families cause they only needed to pick up 1 copy one the game and everyone could play. I remember playing titles like Mario Kart DS, New SMB, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with my little brother.

The moment y'all been waiting for! I finally built my wrist mounted raspberry pi: the Tekubicom Mark I. It has a 3.5in resistive touch display mounted on a raspberry pi 4 4GB, a 30,000 mAh power bank with built in flashlight, a speaker, and a keyboard. its all put together with industrial strength Velcro and some PVC fittings. I want to build another one in the future though cause this thing is heavy.
I'll post more info as I get around to it but for now, here are some photos I took.
