I know from my online distributor, the Orchard, that they are working on more clear agreements on the matter, so you as a musician (or label if you as a musician sold your soul already by giving the mechanical rights away), have a say in what your music can be used to.
I have seen similar from Believe. Hopefully, this will eventually make the bad actors consider not scraping. But nothing seems to stop atm to be honest.

It's really interesting to see how electronic music is produced, if you come from a completely different genre yourself.
I started writing songs when I was just a child, and have written far more than 400 songs using a guitar, strumming chords while writing lyrics. It's been my preferred method for years. But writing with guitar/voice like that, sets some clear boundaries of what kind of music you can make. Not that it all becomes singer songwriter, but some music is not driven by lyrics.

Users are fed up with not owning anything, and that is before every OS trying to become "Agentic". The freedom and the sense of choice far outweigh any downsides that the migration may introduce. Since search engines doesn’t work in 2026, I’m asking here for you nice #LinuxAudio people.
If an audio interface shows up as a device in Alsamixer but not in Pavu/Helvum/Bitwig.
Is there anything I can do about it?

there is a special to these vibe-coded plugins, and you can kind of see it on the plugin description alone. The way it's setup, information is organised and so on. So I had my thougts.
I did install the Windows version through Yabridge, and it sounds fine, I especially like having the chorus'.
We see a lot of these products these days.

I know Bonkwave as an expression once used for describing music which the artist had a hard time defining. When you make music, there rarely is one clear genre, and Bonkwave (or not Bonkwave) became kind of a saying on Fedi some years back and morphed into this great community of people sharing music, making releases and more.

This was such a good experience being part of the #Bonkwave release party. Such a fun and welcoming community, I love how different the tunes are, and how good people are at finding good things to say about the different tunes, to keep the chat fun and also supportive of the artists.

I finally got around to switch from Windows to Linux at work. Here is my Key takeaway so far:
With Windows you’ll have to remove apps, adds and more, to get a useable (kind of) distraction free laptop, and the apps are often invasive in many ways (widgets, start-up proces’ and more).
With #Linux (CachyOS/Gnome) I have to add everything I need - no distractions!
This only, should be the reason for all companies to find a way to move over.

I have finally managed to collect everything I do, when I setup my CachyOS Linux laptop for music production.
In this guide I look at how (and from where) I'm installing apps and why, the PipeWire packages I install, RT Kernel, Audio Interface, Low Latency (Millisecond) and more.
And the ending just made me so happy (spoiler alert!): "And I can do all this, while taking back control of my own digital life."

I'm back testing Studio One on Linux again, mainly because I remembered someone has to use it and report problems, if Presonus should keep developing the native Linux version.
I use pipewire-jack for Studio One; the latency is higher and I need to open the project, de-select the audio device (Jack) and select it again, for the sound to work.
I have a feeling there is something I don't know about pipewire-jack? What could I miss?
I have installed it from the AUR.

I have had this vision for a long time, understanding how to deliberately shape a sound, but I have to be honest I mostly just go through the presets and start turning knobs.

I have been wanting to try a second hand (or cheap) tablet for Linux, but it’s hard to get an overview of what would be a good solution.
It seems very model specific if things work, so you can’t even look at brands.
