Prompting sound effects for my game has made me appreciate sound design a bit more, especially in all the games that I used to play as a kid. you don’t think about it, but many of the sounds we hear in games and movies don’t actually exist, or are so imperceptible that we wouldn’t hear them naturally, but they’re created for the immersive feeling in the game or the movie. For example, when people are fighting in a martial arts sequence, we may sometimes hear their arms make sounds as they make contact, but in reality you wouldn’t hear any of that. Or in the game, where the bow strikes the ground after missing - you normally wouldn’t hear that. A sound designer created that to indicate that you missed a shot. It’s a fascinating artistic field that we don’t think about much because it feels so natural when you hear it, yet it’s very unnatural. LLMs make it easier, but nothing is quite as satisfying as the real thing. A perfectly captured sound is so good to the ear, you want to listen to it over and over.

Noticed that my clanker gets lazy if it knows it has a lot to do.
Eg. I say: make this list of 100 3d assets. It does ok on first 5 and other 95 are worthless garbage.
But, if I feed it one at a time or 5 at a time even and don’t let it know there are 95 more, it does a much better job

My guess is App Store use is already in decline. I’m seeing reports that revenue is dropping. This is likely more do to the explosion of apps rather than App Store usage drop but I’m gonna go ahead and predict and will drop.
With personalized software, the agent interface becomes the place to consume information. It’ll produce on-demand UI and UX at much faster pace very soon. I’ve seen a preview of this already and it’s only going to accelerate.
It may take a full generation to kick the bucket maybe but I think millennials will adapt fast.
I wonder what the big companies are going to do about this … not much they can do.

Yeah, understandable. I’d love to see how it compares to the $200 sub. From what I understand I’m using way more token cost since subs are subsidized. But that’s per their token pricing not compared to z.ai. Would need to be standardized somehow to see what actually wins out.

After watching the Boeing documentary, I looked into the official database of incidents and holy shit … they don’t mention most of them on the news 😧 and that’s only a US incident database …
Common stuff:
- windshield cracks
- electrical fires
- people hurt from severe turbulence
None of these make the news 📰
