I think the felony is pretty low for getting caught 'Damage to public property' or something along those lines. The whole point with xmr, i2p/tor is that no one reveals their identity, neither the buyer or the receiver.
The only link could be the photo (if it is loaded with metadata, which they probably warn you about before upload), which is after the good deed has been carried out. The photo does not prove 'beyond reasonably doubt' that it was you that also took down the cam, just that the photo was taken by your device (in that case).

I see more and more Bitcoiners add a monero payment target. Which is awesome and it is okay to proclaim or sell your newly added payment target with "bitcoin is my choice of money" or "zap me all your moneros".
But, remember it is real people with real "money" behind every zap. Some people in the community (no BS) have their whole life wrapped up in monero from salaries to expenses like cars, house, groceries, utility bills, restaurant, shopping, phone etc.
So, at the end of the day and in the long term. This is not just "digital cash" falling into your lap from the skies. These are anonymous donations given with no strings attached, no obligations or credits because someone out there thinks you really deserves it (not just some gimmick/shitcoin that couldn't be used elsewhere).
And maybe deep down (at least for some bros) an understanding that if we are gone live outside the tax system, we have a duty to be generous, responsible and help out where we can.

For the last 5 years (at least) one would have been better off storing wealth in Monero.
Of cause it is possible that BTC suddenly 10x to 16T in market cap over the next 10 years 😏. As things has turned out, the resource allocation (CPU) between honest vs malicious actors seems to be a loosing battle. I am becoming more open to the concept around authority (monero holders) rather than mining power/hardware strength. In particular with hardware like antminer X9 and the available CPU for rent etc. We somehow have to adopt the idea that Proof of Stake, in the end (today) seems way more resilient against attacks than Proof of Work, at least in the case of monero.
I don't consider the Qubic attack more than a Proof of Concept, where a lot of the hash power came by deceiving miners. A relatively inexpensive attack.
There don't have to be a great divide in the community over this issue when the day comes. Proof of Work was the 'best' and most decentralized option at a time. But, as the threat landscape changes we have to adapt, specially if it is more decentralized (which is hard to prove) and more secure against attacks.

Even with a PO Box or fake name and address. You still have an obscure company that will not allow anonymous payments for their products. So, there is a long row of companies from payment processor, VISA/Master, your bank, your government and all their employees who have this information.

Half of the people I know work under forced labour. They would under no circumstances do what they do, if they had any realistic chance of a way out of it (of cause they dream, try and hope they could somehow make a small business or passive income at some point). They just hope their pension will be enough to let them die with decency after a life in slavery (labourer).

From 6000BC to up around the 80's. Taxes where something the state should argue for, show humiliation about and have something to show for.. They had to convince you that the money were well spend on needed and necessary public infrastructure, libraries, public swimming pools etc.
Then (if the above were true) you went down to your local tax office with a handwritten piece of paper with your tax statement and a pile of cash.
From the 90's the government never needed your approval, accept or responsible behavior to take your money and you could do nothing about it.
