The EU is hijacking the term “circular economy.” 🚩
The concept of Bitcoin—open, decentralized currencies, no control, no government access—is being transformed into a political regulatory framework for material goods: raw materials, products, packaging, textiles, and waste.
The EU is preparing a Circular Economy Act, which is intended to establish the legal framework for a functioning circular economy in the single market by the end of 2026.
The goal: binding, target-oriented rules that will significantly accelerate the transition from a linear to a circular economy.
In practice, this means:
Mandatory recycling rates (e.g., PET bottles), mandatory labeling of recycled materials.
New rules for waste shipments, textile regulations, electronics, and waste.

In small businesses, what matters is whether Bitcoin generates demand, reduces costs, or reaches new customers.
For cross-border payments, the fiat price is secondary when speed, independence, and availability are paramount.
For fundraising campaigns, the key is whether people can pay directly without intermediaries.

I’ve been asked what actually makes me an expert on “Bitcoin for SMEs”?!
Aside from the fact that the word “expert” has lost a lot of its prestige in recent years, I am an expert in information.
I have a degree in media documentation. No, I don’t make documentary films.
I am an expert in dealing with media and information.
I know how mass media works, who owns it, how narratives are created, how to recognize framing and reinterpretations of terms, and how opinions are shaped as a result.
And by the way, no, you don’t become a media expert through unbridled media consumption.
This involves finding, making available, and verifying information; filtering out the irrelevant from the essential; and designing information flows, for example, within companies. Today, this is referred to, among other things, as data management. It also includes simplifying technical jargon to turn information into actionable insights.
Compiling dossiers and conducting research are also part of the job description.
In other words, among other things, what a fact-checker does today—only in a professional capacity.
That makes me a generalist, not a specialist.
My specialization is bringing information together in such a way that it becomes usable.
And that can look completely different depending on the subject area and the user—that is, the target audience.
So I’m no expert in IT or the financial markets. Five years ago, when it came to crypto and Bitcoin, I knew about as much as any ordinary self-employed person—someone torn between family and business, between marketing, fulfilling orders, and bookkeeping.
So I know the situation, the reality of life, and the challenges that come with self-employment. And I know the level of knowledge and the information landscape in which most people operate.
If Bitcoin comes up at all, it’s usually mainstream information focused on price—preferably falling prices—and risk. In other words, information that’s more likely to be discouraging and overwhelming.
And I know that if, for example, you run a carpentry business—and on top of that probably have a family—you certainly don’t have time to teach yourself to become an IT security or financial market expert on the side.
Especially in German-speaking countries, the information landscape is really very sparse, and on Facebook, for instance, you quickly risk censorship and account deletions when discussing crypto topics.
And it’s really striking, the sheer volume of information about Bitcoin as a store of value or speculative asset. The constant repetition of narratives like “Hodl” and “Never sell,” while you have to search high and low for information about adoption.
The term “adoption” itself is already misleading. In German, “adoption” refers to an orphan or a stray dog.

The problem of incomprehensible jargon continues when it comes to the technology.
Software developers have developed their own language, just like crypto enthusiasts—a role they often fill simultaneously. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as long as it facilitates communication among experts within the field.
But even the best tool is of no use to anyone if the potential user doesn’t even understand what it could be used for. We haven’t even gotten to the “how” of using it yet, and the customer is already gone.
The possibilities and opportunities offered by Bitcoin as a means of payment or Bitcoin acceptance are therefore completely unknown to an estimated 99% of all business owners. This starts with the differences between various digital currencies.
Yet it is the self-employed in the small and medium-sized business sector who ultimately support and keep society running.
That is why my project “Bitcoin Acceptance for SMEs” is aimed at business owners and the self-employed.

Every piece of software should go through such a process. It seems to me that developers and users have drifted very far apart linguistically. Most of the time, the average person can't even see what it's for. And the information about how and why doesn't reach them at all. There used to be a profession called "Diplom-Dokumentar" (graduate documentalist). They specialized in this. But such people are hard to find.

To the developers here:
I earned my degree in Information and Media Studies in 2006. Then I realized I didn’t want to work for propaganda departments or data-collecting giants, so I gave it all up and opened a business in the trade I’d learned before college. The business went under in 2021, along with the rest of my livelihood.
And now, completely new worlds are opening up to me here.
So many great tools are being created here and receive far too little attention.
I really don’t mean to offend anyone here, but I think that’s partly due to a lack of accessible, understandable information.
The role of the certified documentarian was created, among other things, to serve as an interface between developers and users.
I think that’s needed again now.
I'm really interested to See how this all Turns Out.

It's in all of our interests to spread the idea of decentralization and decentralized tools.
And I think that's the catch.
It took me ages to find and set up Nostr. And I'm a bit more tech-savvy than the average person.
I think most people lack the "why"—what's the benefit of using decentralized tools?
For many, the question is: what are they, anyway?
And then, how do they even get started?
So yes: Instagram and similar platforms are probably the way to go.
I would have been really glad if I'd known about some of these tools before I got "too cheeky." But unfortunately, I only learned about them afterward.

Warum ich tue was ich tue Teil 1
Erstes Semester Medienwissenschaften und mir war klar, im Mainstream wird mir Kasperletheater vorgespielt.
Ergo habe ich den Medienkonsum so gut wie eingestellt. Diese Erkenntnis hatte ich ca 2001. 2004 war dann die "Gleichschaltung" der Medien im deutschsprachigen Raum meines Erachtens abgeschlossen. Also kamen gängige Medien als Arbeitgeber überhaupt nicht in Frage und habe ich etwas ganz anderes gemacht und das Kasper-Theater so weit möglich ignoriert. Ab 2020 war das leider nicht mehr möglich. Und jetzt ist alles, was mein Leben mal ausgemacht hat weg. Das war ein radikaler Abriss. Aber er hat mir eine steile Lernkurve in Sachen Use-Case von Bitcoin eingebracht. Und ich wünsche meinen Mitmenschen leichteres lernen. Deshalb habe ich dieses Projekt begonnen: https://funnel.bitcoinkmu.com/project_decription_english.
