In 2011, when the U.S. government pressured MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal to cut WikiLeaks off, Bitcoin stepped in. WikiLeaks accepted Bitcoin, and a small community of strangers proved that information can find its way to the public no matter who tries to stop it.

This culminated with Eisenhower’s warning against the military-industrial complex. When I started this film, I basically figured Bitcoin was a pyramid scheme. I'm not embarrassed to say I fell prey to the same kind of curated propaganda that people are also fed about Julian Assange.
