I find it very interesting what is happening in Ukraine right now. After years of war conflict, massive casualties of dead and wounded, with the military front collapsing in a faster pace, with only two fortresses remaining of those which had been prepared before the war, with the distribution network of fuel being destroyed, especially in Donbass, etc, there is something else that causes real panic in Ukraine while the winter is approaching. The empty shelves in the super markets is what causes real panic... and they are empty not because there are no products, but because the guys who had products in the warehouses that had been destroyed, now demand to be paid in advance before they make orders and pay the suppliers.

Your thinking is right of course and devalueation was not the right word. The theory says US will use the gold it has (probably what has stolen from Venezuela also) to reprice its debt, so if the price of gold is high, the amount of debt would be much less. But you have to reconstruct the dollar to do it.
The point is, US debt is growing fast and the dollar is not used so much as a global reserve currency anymore since many transactions are happening out of the dollar payment system and the ammount of such trandactions is also growing fast. The last actions of Bessent with the sanctions that nobody believes they will work, are triggering thoughts that either they are stupid or desperate, or they have something else in mind.

So i gathered figs today, specifically what we call royal figs. They taste much better than the others. In fact their taste is only comparable with honey. Easily ones of the best tasting fruits. Beware though, if you eat many you will definetely have a very urgent call by the toillet afterwards 😀

Right, but when drinkable water is consumed by data centers and you end up drinking low quality water, that is a big concern. Do you remember what have happened in Chile under Pinoset, where US mining companies used the good water and people were drinking low quality water? (wikipedia writes this is fake, but it is not probably, at least according to documentaries i had seen). Also if you take the free running water from an area, this area is obviously downgraded environmentally. Now if the data centers are under water in the sea, this is probably another story.

You know i was thinking about this and being able to bicycle to the grocery store is really a priviledge. Walking too of course. I think it comes with a smoother, more peaceful way of life (i am not going to say life style) most of the times.

With the US bases destroyed and Hormuz and Bab al Mandeb controlled by Iran, the US will be kicked out and that will affect the suni muslim states heavily. Not sure how exactly though but already UAE are losing influence and more. Israel lives with US support mainly and now Iran has been pushed to acquire nuclear capability, Mojtaba seems to be open on this. So it is rather late for Israel to prevent that. Israel now faces a domestic crisis with the population divided. If they surpass this, they will still find themselves in a weak position. Suni muslim states might even realise that it is better for them without Israel in the region, since US would have been kicked out of the region.
