of course it wouldn't address a problem it's not designed to address. The problem it's aimed at is people's complaint they they can't use nojs browsers to access sites behind anubis. Apologies if I missed your point, the "throwing logs at human legs" reference doesn't mean anything to me.

you're right, I use it only rarely, to check accessibility of my own web interfaces in links2.
If there were an anubis-aware http proxy that you could connect through with a nojs browser, and it would handle the challenge and serve plain html, would that be a useful piece of software for people?

I've heard like a hundred people complain bitterly about anubis, but for me it's totally unobtrusive, it flashes for like a half second on sites and I don't even have to click anything, it's like 5% as obnoxious as a captcha. So I'm wondering: am I missing something massive here? Is there some explanation why it would be a barely registerable concern for me but excruciating for others? Is my tolerance for this type of interruption just on the high end? Are people just babies?

a lot of people don't consider that egg cartons are super easy to modify! Go for A and cut off the excess. Doesn't even require a tool, you can pull it apart with your hands. If it's all getting pulped in recycling or mixed into compost anyway, there's nothing to lose. Main reason to go with another option is if you're reusing or upcycling the carton.

what made Google vital back then was that they were selling a vision of the library in the palm of your hand and the world map in your pocket, and went around an app category at a time launching best in class user experiences that blew everybody out of the water. They had a generational run of product launches. What the heck is W even proposing to do? They could be evil, incompetent, boorish, or somehow miraculously none of those things, but they don't even seem to be proposing anything?

I haven't seen any signs of competence or lack thereof from W, as it still seems to be in alpha state and could fully be vaporware that never launches or could work fine, as far as any of us know, right? What I'm unimpressed by is that W seems to totally lack any vision of a better world, or even a better app. Their whole schtick seems to be "we're them, but with the cool and popular kids, trust us, they're all here just out of frame laughing and having a great time"

that seems generous to me. I remember when Gmail was first launched, on April Fools 2004. Web mail back then was in sorry state, slow, feature poor, tiny allocation of storage made you constantly delete emails, and search was atrocious anyway. Gmail improved dramatically on that in every single way. How does W Social even propose to improve social media except by being associated with the European elite? That's the whole value proposition, right? I can't see it actually getting adopted.

that corner could be careless, I did notice that; but as a mathematician, cartoonists playing fast & loose with geometry for a clearer scene has bugged me forever, so that doesn't strike me as a clear tell. Usually when you have image model generated geometries it lacks the ability to keep the counts and continuities of lines consistent, but those are good here. Could be generated & touched up by a cartoonist though, that I can believe.

there's a number of things here that have typically been very difficult for AI to pull off. I scrutinized it for the type of careless details you're talking about, which I normally find in abundance in generated work, and if they're present here it's below my ability as a non cartoonist to detect.

One of my aunts when she was a girl was caught halfway across the creek on the way to school one morning when a flash flood hit, and she was found hours later clinging to the top of the highest boulder singing hymns at the top of her lungs. JavaScript, golang and rust are all victims of language package managers that work with too little friction, in my view. Python and Java have more humane package commons because the package managers are obnoxious to work with, so people don't want to pull in 5000 transitive package drops to do something routine

draft posts, that's it. I already have my site theme open source, so all that's closed is the content. Does any git forge support private branches in a public repo? That doesn't seem like a thing. GitLab has a tool to automatically mirror specific branches of a private repo to a public repo, which I could use, but I think it requires self hosted or premium, so I'm not inclined to do that.

I have wasted so much time learning weirdness and incompatibilities of the posix-style systems, yet whenever I try another one it feels like an insurmountable challenge to get productive. (eg I've spent time learning PowerShell, I do appreciate it and have gotten better at it, but in almost any situation I still prefer ugly old bash)

this looks fun but "I looked at a ton of static site generators and all of them were complicated js" is so unserious. Why not just say "I looked at a couple trendy js options and didn't like either one?"
Why blow smoke as if you invented the concept of the simple php static site generator, a category with an embarrassment of existing options? Why lie when anybody can web search "no dependency php static site generator" and find multiple options on the first page of results?

apps and app stores have such a bad security track record that the original post in the thread, touting Delta's many apps, comes off as very cavalier about security. Then you put yourself in the position of having to backpedal, explaining how your apps are different and safe. Maybe true, I still need to read and educate myself; but counterintuitive at minimum!

I followed that whole saga, it was dismal. Glad the Mac is working better for you.
You should fix the note in your post that elementary is broken, because it still uses accessible X11 by default (Wayland will be an option in the upcoming release, but will not be the only option until accessibility features are mature there.)

see, my girlfriend uses a label printer to put funny, lighthearted labels on things in the kitchen, and it doesn't come off like you're going to get lectured for putting something in the wrong place. The situations I've seen with control freak labels in the kitchen were hand written or inkjet printed.

it's weird if it comes along with an understanding that everything is to be Done Correctly in the kitchen or there will be Consequences. Unless it's a commercial kitchen or shared community kitchen. In my experience, the only people who put signs and labels on everything are control freaks.

it seems shocking that one could easily write a bug that shares state outside your machine. Sounds like a footgun. Can there be some kind of more explicit mechanism where you mark consent for content to be shared over the network, and unmarked content warns or errors out?
