I asked Bitcoin Twitter a simple question this week: if you own meaningful Bitcoin, which worries you more, a 50% price drop, or losing access to it?

One reply put it simply: a 50% drop means you've lost half. Losing access means you've lost it all.
That's what this episode is about.
I recently reviewed one of my own Bitcoin setups and found a gap. A vault I'd created that wasn't properly documented; specifically the derivation path required to rebuild it independently if my provider disappeared. I've been doing this for over a decade and still found a problem.
That's a provider dependency: when your recovery process depends on a specific company, software, or service remaining available.
In this episode I cover what that actually means in practice: a friend's Sparrow update prompt and why pausing before clicking yes was the right instinct; the AUSTRAC Travel Rule coming into effect in Australia on 1 July 2026; a Ledger that died inside a 2-of-3 multisig and turned it into a 2-of-2 overnight; and the questions every Bitcoiner should be able to answer about their own setup right now.

We don’t want the user to have any privacy risk (ie health data leaked and potentially used against you)
The suggestion is all device based
But ideally we find someone with decent technical knowledge to help build it privacy-first

Industrial services have been the main aim thus far
- cleaning
- plumbing
- electricals
- health and safety
Hard asset connected. Essential as possible. Inflation proof. Ai proof
Things people just won’t stop paying for
Initially I was lookin close to where i live, but realised the deal flow is so small, that opened up to VIC, NSW, QLD
The key lesson: a vendor that is retiring is critical. 1) Seller finance 2) stays on as manager for a handover 3) keeps staff
Very early stages
My intention will then be to update the back-end with as much AI as possible, and keep it running
Long-term, and depending on how it goes, I like the idea of roll-ups, adjacent services, with an exit to a PE fund
But first steps is just one high quality, stable, cashflowing business

I’ve spent a week analysing small businesses in Australia to acquire
It’s quite incredible how quickly you can now learn
AI is an absolute game changer
What would have taken a team, investor, analyst, accountant, and lawyer, weeks and weeks
Can now be done in minutes
It’s like you have an on-demand research desk
Investor = decision maker
Broker = deal flow
AI = analyst layer
Not sure where this is going to take me, but as you will imagine, I have a preference for hard asset related companies, likely service based for the best margins and recurring customers
And yes, a retiring baby boomer makes an excellent vendor

Whilst it’s important to recognise that it’s not specifically ChatGPT users that will be affected, but rather their AI models being used on specific gov use cases

The way open source is funded is so interesting. Grants etc. But I personally love the idea of funding companies with break-out sovereignty tech. Maybe that's not possible within the guardrails of incoroporation? Ie the state captures the essence of these tech at limited liability. Do you see any companies actually breaking out into growth phase? It will be all about how you analyse them I think
