I had an Idea to make a messaging platform dedicated to roleplaying/ttrpg w/ familiar UI like discord but yikes, there's so much I have to learn even if ChatGPT said it's feasible for a solo dev to work on it.
Yeah I am a vocational high school software engineer graduate I but I cheesed my way through SE because the teacher was going everywhere about the lessons, and it was about web apps which I really hate developing in.

This time, I'll truly learn SE.

I'm not vibe coding it, that would be a shame, insult, and disgrace to myself, my skills, and my beliefs.

All vibe no story is the problem I'm having with worldbuilding right now, or maybe even more than worldbuilding
and maybe i never really cared about stories at all.
Everytime I play a game, especially when the seperation between the story and gameplay is so clear like Blue Reflection... ah it's hard to explain
In that game you can be a magical girl entering people's emotional part of their mind and a disabled ballerina going through daily life and most of it is just... you being a disabled ballerina going through daily life.
And that part of the game is split into 2:
- Really bog standard visual novel with 3D cutscenes
- Literally bare minimal adventure
The visual novel part, it makes me feel like reading a glorified e-book rather than playing a game; and the bare minimal adventure... all I could do is just go explore the school and interact but that interaction doesn't feel special; no rewards, no clue, just interaction for the sake of it.
And the magical girl part, It's like they innovated one thing into turn based combat and It's not even comprehensible, at least for me.
The rest is a generic arena with enemies and some pickupables, that's it but somehow they made it feel worse; the enemies respawn every time you go into a some sort of gateway, destroying sense of progression and getting you lost if that gateway leads to another place then back.

SystemD age verification... it's all just Linux users saying "nooo SystemD bad must switch to other Init system"
First, what they did is just add an optional field in a database to enter your age which only an admin can add
Second, yes it may lay down a foundation for more governmental oppression but how are you gonna be so sure the future is like that? Is it a fact or a fearful expectations that they've used to predict the future?
Three, switching Init system means somebody is gonna lose some software compatibility, It may not work for everyone.
Four, It's not gonna solve the main problem: Politicians being fucking idiots, they could make other init system bow down with enough pressure.
Switching Init systems is a fear-mongered move that may result nothing but self-inflicted hard times, the real move is to forcefully tell the politicians it's impossible right in their face where they can shoot their own foot with their own gun called "proposed laws"
Call me a SoystemD Bootlicker but I live above fear because I'm tired of it, and I'm happy to not be pushed around to everywhere, everytime.
