I think that's the bit one has to form one's own opinion. During the england Argentine game, england went 1-0 up. The chap working in the bar said to me that I must be happy. My response was don't really care, am only kinda English but it makes no difference, score will be 2-1 to Argentina at the end. I did watch some of this world cup and even if you didn't have those stupid flow destroying ad breaks, the games seem rigged. Went and watched in small bar rather than local watering hole cause all the over emotional reactions just seem weird to me. In Costa Rica it's baked in. Designs are made for builds and engineers get a % of official quoted cost when applying for a permit to build. The property owner is trying to understand the cost of a build by negotiating with an engineer who is incentivises to maximise the cost. It's fucking stupid right now. Example: have a friend who just built a house and they're friend did the costing honestly. The actual build has come out at around 950usd/sqm. If you go and get quotes from building companies right now, the range of quotes for the same thing is 1300 to 2500. Obviously, market forces kick in due to the moral corruption of malincentives and I know of people who're just delaying until it comes back down. It's driven by lots of foreign money coming in and probably a lot of money laundering. Fascinating to watch but very frustrating. The worst thing is, there's a luxury property tax and it's based on that registered figure so you could suck it up, accept the grift and just say yes but then you get a nice tax on top. This insanity is partially what's driving rents up as peopleseek returns in investments. The beauty is, it's locals fucking over locals and foreigners get the blame. Human dynamics

We've been doing aeromagnetic surveys for decades. How did field strengths behave before? Who knows. I hear you. Not sure on the disaster side of the context myself and also not sure on timeframe potential for these things. As a geo, you kind get educated into this whole slow process thing and everything takes a long time etc and then you go to work, look at rocks and that doesn't make sense. Episodic is more realistic.
But my point wasn't to say I agree with thesis, just interesting data point for people. It's been quite a dramatic change we see. Ties in with all the aurora changes too. I find it quite interesting but might simply be because it's in my field of study, work and curiosity

For anyone listening to Kruse regarding the whole magnetic fields thing, I won't stick oar in at all but here's a little thing many don't know.
When drilling an oil well, we need to know the direction and we use magnetometers. The local magnetic field is used to calibrate and correct the readings to deviation from north. Due to gradual shift in magnetic pole, we would update local models with an airborne gravimetric survey once or twice per year to keep the correction factor up to date.
That was then, like a while ago. Then some operators started doing it slightly more frequently cause they were changing more frequently. Now it's once a week for some.
Food for thought. Ground might feel stable but lots going on

The argument that the solution is trial by fire of adoption in the market is understandably rational from a game theoretic perspective but am not sure it's the most positive approach.
