I specifically want to know for deposits, withdraws, and lightning sends if there are flat fees or percentage fees (on top of on chain fees when applicable). It seems like withdrawals are the place with the most fees. I looked for documentation or blog post and couldn’t find anything.

It works great with Sparrow Wallet and SeedSigner. I named after the Eastern hellbender, North America's largest salamander. It’s still missing a few features I want, but it’s like 95% done. I feel like no one will ever use it except me. Even so, I was going to put it on the App Store but I’m not so sure now. I forgot Apple requires “cryptocurrency wallets” to be submitted by an organization/LLC. This would take me a decent amount of time and money on my end. All I really wanted was an easier way for me to install it on my own phone and share with others. Like every one else, I’m blown away with agentic coding stuff. Specifically Claude.
Something I threw together a few weeks ago for fun in a few hours was creating a forked version of BlueWallet that’s testnet only.
I haven’t done extensive testing, but it’s testnet… I use for SeedSigner dev testing mainly. No promises I’ll maintain this.

Here’s an example of what I mean. Call it what you want. The feeling I experienced is laziness.
I’ll run into an error or bug when testing app. I don’t want to read the logs or error message because I know the AI agent can for me. I just want to copy and paste the entire log with a description of the issue to the AI agent to tell me what is wrong and how to fix instead of just reading the log, identifying the specific relevant error messages and troubleshooting with AI in a more targeted (less tokens) route.

It was not on by default for me. I had to click activate in the Square settings > checkout > payments section on the iPhone app. This opened up an iOS Safari webpage with a setup wizard asking me some very simple questions. It took 60 seconds to activate.

I have an ancient square account I setup over 15 years ago and never use. Somehow it continues to exist; so I used it to generate this invoice and see what the steps were to turn on accepting bitcoin payments. So I haven’t found a true merchant to accept payments yet. I know a small handful of businesses with single employees who use Square. It will be trivial to step them through turning on bitcoin payments.

I also like the YYYMMDD date style. I also like the full node subver string for Knots node cause it lets you know what its core base is (e.g. /Satoshi:29.1.0/Knots:20250903/) and the date time of the release.

I guess that is ultimately the calculus in question. The risk seems to be normalization of the networking lowering the node defaults of `minrelaytxfee` and `incrementalrelayfee`. I suspect this would lead to lower long term fee rates. Maybe I’m wrong.

I now see 4 out of 68 peers identifying as Knots. 7 of these peers are relaying sub 1 vbyte txs; that seems wild to me.

I wish there was more discourse on nostr about sub 1 sat per vbyte transactions being relayed and mined. Seems like bad long term thinking for mining pools. @npub1exc…n72a mostly dismissed it as mining pool economic ignorance on a recent WBD pod. I find it hard to believe mining pools aren’t considering the economic consequences.

It’s a shame more onchain wallets don’t support BIP39 passphrases.
I find myself using Zeus the most. I wish @npub1xnf…lpr5 had a proper onchain wallet not associated to any specific LN implementation. If it did, I’m not sure I’d have a reason to use any other mobile wallet.
Wallet choice is complex. So many trade offs it’s challenging to summarize.

Starlink is my secondary failover internet. My neighbor really wanted it so I went halfsies on it with him. Fiber in my area is cheaper and faster. My neighbors aren’t big internet users; but they stream their TV watching, have smart phones and use a laptop rarely. They never complain about issues.
My internet has failed over to starlink for hours during main working hours and I never even noticed. I do zoom/webex/teams calls all day and it works perfectly for me when I do use it.

My limited first hand experience is that crap weather, like a typical thunderstorm with rain or average snow fall (2-3 inches), it works just like normal. The main thing I see is a significant drop in available bandwidth during peak usage times.

The App Store guidelines have changed quite a bit since I last looked at them closely. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what the guidelines say but how Apple enforces them. Glad to hear it’s not a problem. Maybe it’s okay since it’s probably JavaScript executing from WebKit.

If the funds are on chain, i wonder if can try using a wallet like sparrow to recover using an exported xprv. Id try p2tr and native segwit script types with standard derivation paths and set a high gap limit of like 1000+.
I think LND uses seed words that are not BIP39. I’m pretty sure it would still be possible to export an xprv and derive addresses though.
