That is partially it, yes. But you won't fix it fully even with plain URI.encode either.
I've asked silverpill to include the Pleroma module for it in the bug report to Akkoma, but for reasons Oneric completely disregarded it.

That's because they are correctly encoded from Pleroma. If you use those emojis with the same filenames on Akkoma as emoji reactions or put them in your profile, they will be broken.

Also when you are into optimizing media, serving upload media directly from nginx is a good optimization as well.
But be warned that on Pleroma, if you enable the ?name= query parameter for uploads and in nginx construct a content-disposition header from that query parameter for preserving filenames, filenames with spaces will suddenly now have pluses everywhere, because that's how it is supposed to be in the query. There's no way around that besides writing your own njs filter.
Akkoma does not have this specific issue (it has different ones), because Akkoma has not pulled the URI encoding fixes from Pleroma.

@npub1evt…2vf8 @npub1kyn…js09 Thinking about adding a possibility to include the last scrobble in /api/v1/accounts/:id with a query flag to reduce the number of requests at least Pleroma FE makes on boot since that might be a part of the reason why my main instance usually goes into DB timeouts when I load it up. Opinions?

I run two mailservers, I'm in no way against hosting your own email, but just like with GNU/Bootlickers pushing unusable and broken software/hardware to unsuspecting people calling it how amazing and fully working it is, the people that push self-hosting your own mail server should also take a step back and think to whom to they recommend it and how they talk about the reality of hosting it. It is not all sunshine and roses.

The target audience is people that heard somewhere they should host their own email, felt intrigued by it but don't want to know the internal how to get it working, ie. the vast majority people. Most people simply aren't interested in learning this.

Postfix/Dovecot is the easy part, you can even cheat with things like Mailcow and the new-ish all-in-one email solutions written in Go. It's the deliverability that is annoying to maintain. Are you in a bad IP space or inherited an IP that was used by a spammer, good luck getting that reputation back in a reasonable time. Have fun getting deliveries fully working to Gmail/O365 and not get dropped into spam at seemingly random times.
