So apparently there is a mom that got arrested becuz her 10 year old went to the grocery store a half mile from their house while she took her older son to a practice for a sport .
Anyways the state said they would drop the charges if she got her 10 year old a phone (he did not have one) and track his location with an app .
She said she is not going to comply
The next day state sent CPS and took her to jail . Could be sentenced to 1 year .
Very dystopian to think in the not so distant future that as a parent it could be ILLEGAL for your child to NOT have a smartphone and ALSO track your child through an app .

Reccomend either tails or fedora great linux distros they do have frequent updates but you can spin up a virtual machine pretty quick for windows 10/11 that should work for your drives and wont have to worry about updating windows on a VM

I joined Facebook in 2011 and today I deleted my account .
My feed went from seeing an ad barely at all back in 2011 to being full of them .
I have seen over the years 3rd party companies allowed to harvest most of the things I post and comment on with my closest aquintances .
It simply was not the place I signed up to in 2011 .
I am forever grateful to have found this protocol at such an early stage and I hope that it becomes nothing like Meta and Facebook . We are better .

Rental car giant Hertz on Thursday said it will sell about 20,000 electric vehicles from its U.S. fleet.

The rental car giant said it would allocate funds it gets from selling the vehicles toward purchasing more internal combustion engine vehicles "to meet customer demand."
You may be able to find used Teslas for under 20k for sale soon from these Hertz used EV sales .
