Ok, I zapped back but this time using NWC. I've never ever had it set up in the past. Every single time I wanted to zap Amethyst would redirect me to @nprofile…vavr where I had to confirm.
I actually likes that flow way better.
What bothers me is that I don't know if this broke on Minibits side, or the @nprofile…wywf side.

I can't zap anymore.
Just tried it and Amethyst asks which app to choose. It doesn't even offer @nprofile…vavr which was my main driver. It worked perfectly and reliably. I haven't changed the lightning address, but I do see a red exclamation mark next to it. No clues why or what does it mean. How to debug this @nprofile…2lxp?

Now, this badass UX.
- clicked to zap someone, selected amount
- @nprofile…vavr opens with the info of the invoiice and a "Pay now" button
- at the same time, it tells me there's a new update
- clicked to update, curious to see what happens to the invoice
- app updated (don't remember if it restarted, but it would make sense that it did)
- the invoice is still there with the "Pay now" button
- clicled the button, zapped a nostrich

Alternative way is to have Alby browser extension, but I think Minibits is way easier.
The main thing to look for is the ability to easily copy the address from the wallet to your EXISTING profile. Some other wallets are also easy to set up, but they create the new nostr profile (key pair) for you.

The absolute easiest way is to download @nprofile…vavr wallet, and create a new random identity. You will have some random email assigned to it. It serves as lightning email you can just copy to your nostr profile. And you're good to go.
I'd just start there. Worry about setting up a wallet for larger transactions later. This simple setup can go a long way.

Everyone (and their mom) should read "The Gold Standard".
It provides a fascinating historical record that exposes the modern banking scam. One cannot help but feel devastated by the waste of the human productivity, potential, and ultimately - a waste of countless human lives. All orchestrated by a relatively small group of people (if we can call them that). Profit and power over everything. War is lucrative, humans are disposable.
I was LIVID while reading the history part!
Even though I didn't need any convincing even before this, there is now no doubt in my mind that they would do anything imaginable and unimaginable to us. The next time someone says - " There's no way they would go that far", I will only laugh (or cry?). People seriously need to study history.
I don't know if real Saifedean Ammous is on Nostr, but if you are - thank you.
If "The Bitcoin Standard" was transformative, "The Gold Standard" is eye opening.
