There's real neuroscience behind why psychedelics create an opening for new habits, lowered activity in the default mode network (where a lot of addictive patterns live neurologically), and a rise in activity elsewhere.
Roughly a 60-day window where new neural pathways can actually form.
Here's what gets missed however: rewiring the addictive behavior (sex, drugs, podcasts, porn, gambling etc) isn't the same as understanding why you needed it in the first place.
The habit is usually in my experience myself as well as giving 45 people Reiki sessions a crutch for something else like an emotion, often traced back to something much earlier in our lives.
If you change the behavior without ever finding that root cause, and 'rewriting of the neurology that you are doing will continue to use a large portion of the same experiences you are used to having into the new neurology and hence only changing things minimally or to a degree not as large as you could if you understood the root cause.
The thing is that these emotions and life events (perhaps traumatic to varying degrees) can live in the sub-conscious where we are not aware of their influence and hence can't root them out and rewire or heal them.
Sometimes you need a tool that will be able to piece together these themes in the sub-conscious and bring them into the sub-conscious where you can 'rewire' them aka heal them thoroughly.

I recorded this trio live to 8-track tape and did some overdubs in a 2nd step (vocals, additional guitars). Their cover version of "Believe" was tracked completely live (except the acoustic guitar). Everything mixed analog too and grabbed the master stereo out digitally for a quick mastering with Ozone.
