The threat of disbarment shows up in so many places throughout the legal process. There are times where it becomes obvious the attorney is necessarily more worried about the risk of certain actions, or specific advice— rather than the ultimate well-being or best interest of the client. This is the real conflict of interest. There’s a lot of self-preservation involved on the part of any attorney; even the ones with the best intentions sometimes have their hands tied and have to tip-toe around potential landmines.

My background is gas turbine controls and process engineering. Lots of programming with physical consequences. Being able to simulate physical reality in your head is a boon when working in software.
I've been exploring what makes software different from any other field, and came to the conclusion that it's essentially a simulated reality. The programmer maps user inputs to outputs and simulates a reality based on abstract rules. The best programs seem to be the ones that most align with natural law, and the buggiest ones are the ones that most deviate from it. Looking at it from that perspective, clean code and architecture earn their inefficiency, and iterative development becomes an analogue for natural evolution.

Considering the German government caused an international spat with mexico when they kidnapped a German human rights lawyer to take him back to Germany and throw him into solitary confinement in jail on trumped up charges to shut him up, might be worth Germans paying attention. Unfortunately, all I see from Germans generally is parroting of bullshit anti Russia propaganda while their rights are being stripped. It's very very odd behaviour.
