HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY ’I’m Too Sexy’.
When we first recorded "I'm Too Sexy" every record label rejected it. We couldn't get it signed, one label said it would never sell because the song starts with a vocal, and many of the execs never bothered to listen it.
Then, ‘I’m Too Sexy’ landed on Simon Bate's desk on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show and also the Gary Crowley show on the BBC, it just went mental, the song was being picked up everywhere .
It was an instant hit becoming #1 across the world including the US (Billboard Hot 100) making it the first debut single since The Beatles to achieve that chart position. ‘I’m Too Sexy’ has reached the #1 spot in the US on the Billboard 100 four times now due to the re-works by Taylor Swift, Drake and Beyoncé.

A GoFundMe campaign raised more than £55,000 for a Gazan family trying to escape the war.
Most of the money raised never reached them.
Banking rules and sanctions prevent direct payouts in Gaza, so the funds had to go through an intermediary. When that arrangement collapsed, the family was left without the support raised for them.

Thanks to AI eating the supply chain, hosting a website has gotten a LOT more expensive than in years past. One wonders what's going to happen to bajillions of small hosting companies that are profitable as long as all their equipment isn't 2-10 times more expensive than it used to be. For now, they're just passing the costs on to their customers. But my guess is the hosting industry is headed for a wave of consolidation and/or bankruptcies.

Over 108 days, the war in Iran has cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $113.3 billion and counting.
That's $1.05 billion per day, more than the Small Business Administration gets in an entire year, burned every 24 hours.
In less time than a single baseball season, the government spent more than the combined annual budgets of NASA, the EPA, FEMA, and the Department of Justice.
More than every federal highway, bridge, and road project in America for a full year.
Every taxpayer's share: ~$691. A family of four: ~$1,360. For a war most Americans couldn't find on a map three months before it started.
And these are just the direct costs. Brown University's research on Iraq and Afghanistan shows that long-term costs like veteran care, equipment replacement, interest on the debt used to finance it, typically multiply the sticker price by 3-5x. The real tab for this 108-day war could land somewhere between $340 billion and $567 billion.
Afghanistan's first 100 days cost ~$31.5 billion. Iran's 108 days cost 3.6x that.
The money is always there for war. It's never there for anything else.

Belarus is seizing property and bank accounts of democracy activists living in Canada.
Families still inside Belarus are being harassed as leverage. Photos from a rally in Alberta become evidence of "extremism." Apartments are confiscated without court dates or appeals.
Since the fraudulent 2020 election and the mass protests that followed, over 1,100 political prisoners remain behind bars. More than 8,000 politically motivated convictions. An estimated 500,000 to 600,000 Belarusians have fled the country.
But fleeing doesn't mean safety anymore. At least 207 participants in Belarusian Freedom Day events held in Canada, the US, UK, Poland, and Lithuania were identified by authorities and charged with "facilitating extremist activities."
The playbook is straightforward: seize property back home, threaten family members who stayed behind, file charges in absentia with sentences up to seven years and fines up to $750,000. "Extremism" becomes whatever the regime decides it is. Facts and evidence are irrelevant.
This is transnational repression. Authoritarian states projecting control beyond their borders to silence dissent in free countries. It's happening from Belarus, Russia, China, and Iran. The assumption that democratic nations provide a safe haven for political exiles is eroding in real time.
Distance no longer protects you.

Let's imagine that things are going to get much worse, before they get better. As seen in "Atlas Shrugged", "The Mandibles", "The Road to Serfdom" and a number of other fiction or non-fiction books on the subject of decadence.
The drivers could be mass immigration, population decline, aging, mass unemployment or just good old fiscal irresponsibility and socialism. Or a combination of all of them.
The point is that the current western system, defined by huge welfare states, massive government spending, hyperregulation, high taxation, ballooning debt and increasing surveillance and control is unsustainable. Without major reform it will decline and eventually collapse.
The good news is that Bitcoin, Nostr and other tools will make the future much brighter. Whatever replaces the old system will have stronger protection for individual rights, enforced by technology instead of government fiat.
But the moment of crisis will not be pretty. Bankrupt governments will become unbelievably rapacious, unpredictable and unhinged. They will look for people to blame and they will look for victims to loot.
How can you protect yourself and your family?
The best way is mobility. Exit is powerful. Leaving the country that is persecuting you and moving to one that welcomes you is an obvious solution that has worked for millions. Nation states and their enforcers are still very much limited by geographical boundaries. Just ask anyone who left Venezuela 20 years ago if they made the right choice. Ask Ayn Rand why she left Russia in 1926. Ask Friedrich Hayek if he regrets leaving Austria in 1938!
But what if you cannot or will not leave the country? How do you protect your family and your property from the worst of the crisis?
