Затем я пошел по одной тропинке среди брусчатки, что освещалась светлячками и зашел в домик под деревом, под хрюкание кабана издали. Мелиса уже спала, на столе горела керосиновая лампа. Я присел на мягкое кресло с алой мягкой спинкой и сидением, достал книгу, купленную в железном ларьке с чурхелой, и принялся её читать. Язык, на котором она написана, я не понимал. Какая-то слогобуковица, напоминавшая то ли индийские письмена, то ли тайские письмена. Но заставши на одной странице, я всё таки её смог прочитать. Там было написано:

Какая-то кучка непонятных для этого мира слов. На следующей странице был приведен код на каком-то сильно структурированном языке, который я запустить не мог. Куча непоняток. Я достал свой гиперторинк, решил понажимать кнопки - а он оказался лишь безделушкой, перелистывающей бумажные картинки чудным образом.
