Why doesn’t primal compress this video? It could be 80% smaller and look exactly the same.
Yesterday opus 5 confidently told me it visually tested my environment (3d) when i saw for a fact that it didn’t. I pointed this out over and over and each time it said oh, you’re right, I only said I did but I didn’t actually do it. Then it proceeded to do the same.
I don’t know what you call that… any ideas?

Prompting sound effects for my game has made me appreciate sound design a bit more, especially in all the games that I used to play as a kid. you don’t think about it, but many of the sounds we hear in games and movies don’t actually exist, or are so imperceptible that we wouldn’t hear them naturally, but they’re created for the immersive feeling in the game or the movie. For example, when people are fighting in a martial arts sequence, we may sometimes hear their arms make sounds as they make contact, but in reality you wouldn’t hear any of that. Or in the game, where the bow strikes the ground after missing - you normally wouldn’t hear that. A sound designer created that to indicate that you missed a shot. It’s a fascinating artistic field that we don’t think about much because it feels so natural when you hear it, yet it’s very unnatural. LLMs make it easier, but nothing is quite as satisfying as the real thing. A perfectly captured sound is so good to the ear, you want to listen to it over and over.

Noticed that my clanker gets lazy if it knows it has a lot to do.
Eg. I say: make this list of 100 3d assets. It does ok on first 5 and other 95 are worthless garbage.
But, if I feed it one at a time or 5 at a time even and don’t let it know there are 95 more, it does a much better job

Yes there are startups already doing this but it’s still a bit crude. But I think it’ll improve fast.

Yeah, understandable. I’d love to see how it compares to the $200 sub. From what I understand I’m using way more token cost since subs are subsidized. But that’s per their token pricing not compared to z.ai. Would need to be standardized somehow to see what actually wins out.
