I don't think there is a perfect approach. We need a combination of efforts in cities, suburbs, and rural. And each will have its own challenges that the others may not share. But there are also common issues. I think local politics are the real opportunity for the most impact. These people often live in the area they govern. There's probably more pressure than some full time empty suit in Washington. They get to live outside their own decisions to a larger extent than my city mayor, for example.
These addresses should be flagged by chainalysis as associated with criminal activity right?

I hear ya. It’s almost taboo to discuss and I feel like it will get worse.
I just can't stand that type of environment. Didn't mean to imply there are no benefits. There obviously are. It just affects my mental health negatively. I'm usually anxious and angry in congested places. Like a low level negative vibration constantly. No idea what to call it, but I don't feel that when I have enough space. Anyway, my big takeaway from all of it is that burying our heads in the sand on politics is an anti-solution and the whole opting out thing is kind of bullshit. You can only opt out to the extent that they can't or won't pursue you, and that gap gets smaller by the day with technology.
But I'm not bullish on politicians either, as I'm sure my other notes have made clear. I just don't buy that they don't matter at all, especially at the local level. I've personally seen politics matter in my own town.

刚看了眼ocbc账户还能用，所以香港券商里股和钱都先不动，反正有2年缓冲。看到个说法，用的crs内的券商，出今后原路回国被查税的概率高，不知真假吧，反正我原来的计划里墙外法币只是个陪衬，法币无论哪里的终归是法币，尤其线上的。

And my issue isn't even with tolls. I have some issues with how they're implemented possibly, but that's a separate issue. I'd happily pay tolls in a privacy respecting way, but most people won't so here we are. I remember ten years ago you could stop and pay cash. Those days are gone in my area.
That's how it is in my area. They read the plate and you can pay by plate online. Those systems would not work with the methods I described. All three would be overkill. The question is what jurisdiction laws are for each of those things and whether and to what extent they'll pursue you.
I'm sorry JB, I'm still missing what your goal is when you say decorate. Do you mean that a reply is visually changed so that the npub being replied to notices it? Like it looks different in the UI? I'm imagining YouTube super chats where a reply attached to monetary value is visually highlighted. Of course you can then do other things with the same logic. Place it at the top of replies, ranked, etc. If that's what you're saying then that would be pretty cool.
It seems like handling zap failures is a separate concept but could probably be in or near the same logic for decoration. It would just become a standard reply instead of a zap. I think that would be better than the current situation where you just get a popup saying they don't have payment options setup. It would be cool for them to at least see that people are trying. For one, it would serve as an indication that something may not be right on their end. But it would also let them see people tried to show appreciation and maybe even motivate them to join in on that feature.
Of course all of this goes out the window if you go down the private payment route (I think?) but that's okay. I want those options too.
