No, like you gave your house its own server and it was trading.
Hard forks keep the network secure.
It wasn’t a block reorganization, it was selfish mining, they didn’t reorganize the existing blockchain, they made new blocks faster than the rest of the network could.
Bitcoin will have a security issue in the future, tail emissions is a preemptive solution.
It most certainly didn't have an established price before then. I know there were various price boards trying to make it be so, but hardly anyone knew they existed, and trades on them were only a rumor.
The real, in-depth story about Pizza day is much more Heroic: (Sorry about the twitter link) https://x.com/turtlecute33/status/2057742792021909714

👀 🎾 125th French Open (Roland Garros) — clay‑court Grand Slam starting Sunday in Paris.
- 🏆 **Men’s favorite:** Jannik Sinner — World No. 1, 29‑match winning streak, dropped only three sets in that run; has won Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome this season; can complete career Grand Slam in Paris; would extend one of the longest ATP-era win streaks and move within seven wins of Djokovic’s record (43).
- ❌ **Absent:** Carlos Alcaraz — still sidelined with a wrist injury.
- 👑 **Women’s defending champion:** Coco Gauff — strong recent form (runner‑up in Rome), mental resilience (multiple comeback wins, saved match point vs Jovic), 27‑5 career French Open record, has reached second week in each of past five appearances.
- 🧠 **Novak Djokovic:** limited match play this season (10 matches), mixed recent results (2–2 in last four), lost a tuneup to qualifier Dino Prizmic, skipped further warmups but remains a major threat capable of deep runs.
- ⚠️ **Aryna Sabalenka:** World No. 1 but less dominant on clay — combined 4–2 in Madrid and Rome, early exit in Rome to Sorana Cirstea, took a medical timeout for lower‑back pain; was one set from winning Roland Garros last year.
- 🇫🇷 **Gaël Monfils:** received main‑draw wild card for his final French Open (will retire at year’s end); veteran showman, former junior major winner, best Grand Slam result: 2008 French Open SF and 2016 US Open SF; oldest ATP Tour singles title winner at Auckland last year.
- 👩🏫 **Wim Fissette → Vicky Mboko:** Fissette (experienced coach) begins a trial partnership with rising Canadian Vicky Mboko after splitting with Iga Świątek; Mboko: 2025 National Bank Open champion, recent WTA 1000 final, top‑10 debut, limited clay tuneups (wisdom‑teeth surgery, illness) but reached Strasbourg semifinal.
- ⚖️ **Contextual notes:** Sinner’s bid for a first French Open title; Gauff aiming to defend; Djokovic’s form uncertain but dangerous; Sabalenka struggling on clay; Monfils’ farewell story; new coach–player pairing could impact Mboko’s trajectory.

I read this originally thinking "he must have meant homie but this is a hilarious picture. A crypto HOUSE?!"
Funny story... I lived near a PJ in Kansas City for over a decade and every year went in there (in person) to pick up my pizza and regail them with the story of Bitcoin pizza day.
Every year it was someone different at the counter. After a decade of that they still didn't have a clue and I gave up on PJ employees... They have no incentive to care.
Hello Nostriches! Hope you had a wonderful Bitcoin Pizza Day
Wrong.
Pizza day is about exactly one thing: Being thankful to Lazlo for helping give Bitcoin Value.
It could be worth $0 today.
First thing I do is install an ad blocker extension
I never thought that would get this much love.
And trust me, I'm happy she's imaginary. This way, she remains perfect.
Those would be the shitheads he is referring to. Society today is nothing like the ideal he is speaking of.

Everyday is about paying with bitcoin.
#nevent1q…8vzh
It absolutely will be on a seastead with a policy of having everyone approved before they can move aboard.
The demand to pay for things with Bitcoin is there and is massive. It's just merchants pos systems are too slow or aren't able to adopt.
We have 3 big bags so far ..... Our locall food bank gives us 1 bag a week for free so maybe I should just take all the cans for free...
Your kids and grandkids will call you an absolute legend!!!

Shakepay the Canadian Bitcoin company, recently released a feature that shows stores across Canada where users are spending with the Shakepay card.
It’s only been live for a day, and already thousands of businesses across the country appear on the map, showing how widely users are using the Shakepay Visa debit card.
The important detail is that this is not direct Bitcoin adoption by merchants. The card works like a normal Visa debit card: users convert their Bitcoin into CAD before making a purchase, while merchants continue operating entirely within the traditional fiat payment system.
What this demonstrates is that there is already significant consumer demand to spend Bitcoin. Right now, people are converting BTC into CAD because most merchants do not accept Bitcoin directly.
This is where companies like Block showed the right direction. What Shakepay and similar companies need to do is integrate Bitcoin payments directly into merchants POS systems, while automatically converting the Bitcoin into CAD behind the scenes. That way, merchants would not need to manage Bitcoin volatility, custody, accounting, or technical implementation themselves.
The demand to pay with Bitcoin clearly exists and is massive. The missing piece is making merchant acceptance seamless and invisible to businesses.
Unfortunately, the app is currently available only to Canadians, and the map feature can only be viewed by Shakepay users.
