I like on-chain zaps but why not just add a BTC address input section for onchain payments in the settings versus using your nostr key btc address? Maybe even a toggle setting to choose between them?

I’ve been in crypto a long time. I got into XMR many years ago because I was completely cancelled. You can look on archive sites, I was one of the first two political bans from Twitter. It was me and Milo Yiannapoulos. I was banned in December of 2016, right after the election, due to my prolific public support for the winning candidate for the presidency. Milo is back on Twitter, but I’m sure that has nothing to do with his self-admitted cooperation as an FBI informant.
Anyways that’s beside the point. Not only was I banned from Twitter, I was banned from Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, retail banks and exchanges, all within a very short period. Because I was viewed as strategically helpful to the candidate that half of America supported! So I was forced entirely into crypto due to debanking. But then the damnedest thing started happening. People who both sent and received Bitcoin from me started having their exchange accounts cut off.
I started using Monero not because I cared about privacy. I don’t and still don’t! I’m a public figure with a fucking Wikipedia article, and I’m unapologetic about my views! I have no problem shouting what I’m doing from the rooftops! I was never trying to hide. I only wanted to tell people the truth as I saw it. And for that I was completely cut off from the financial system.
The only thing that allowed me to not be homeless and feed my kids was Monero. It was the only currency that just worked as actual money, and still is.

I heard there's a new version on Local Bitcoinets, but I haven't looked at the details enough.
If they send it to a hot wallet, then that wallet is potentially tainted. If they send it to Lightning, then why not just send it to Lightning, to begin with?
Also, just the mentality:
1. Build a major feature that is a ticking time bomb.
2. Tell people to not use it in a normal fashion because it's actually pretty horrible.

I have read the NIP-BC proposal again and found nothing in this regard. Maybe @nprofile…ae9u , can you add this to NIP-BC as well and make this the preferred choice then?
Also a classic tactic for chain analytics, including the ones submitting evidence to courts. FYI. Send people money they didn't ask for and then simply observe them.
Some of us are savvy enough to figure out how to move this without doxxing ourselves. But if you are savvy enough for that, you can figure out how to get and use a Lightning wallet, silent payments, or give someone an invoice.
This is a solution without a problem.

I'm hopeful the on-chain controversy currently raging on nostr opens some eyes to the very real problem of tainted coins.
While the open ledger issue of bitcoin is mostly ignored by the bulk of bitcoin fans, the issue with on-chain zaps is providing a different scenario that does well at illustrating the need for fungibility.
If it is not fungible, it is not money. Simple as.

The wrench attack is an attempt to get them to transfer that $50 to a wallet with some serious money in it, so that they dox their main wallet.
There are also encrypted zaps. where only the sender and recipient can see them.
