Jk, uh honestly because everything else sucks.
but.. but... I love sleeping. More than I love dreaming 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
It’s not a technical discussion. It never was.
I don’t throw pedophile accusations around lightly. Being a pedophile is about as morally reprehensible as a person can be.
When it comes to Bitcoin, I care about people’s moral compass. Most people have a reasonably good instinct for judging others’ intentions. They can usually tell who is acting in good faith and who isn’t.
If I invite people to my home for dinner, and some behave respectfully while others trash the place, and a third group makes excuses for the people behaving like pigs, I’ll throw both groups out. Only the people who show respect are welcome to stay.
I apply the same principle to my node, and I think most reasonable people do as well. Bitcoin has never been welcoming to scammers or bad actors. That has always been part of its culture.
It’s one of the reasons Bitcoin is often called ethical money. Its incentives reward people with a low time preference and punish the short-term mindset fostered by fiat.
So the question is simple: which one are you? Do your actions match your claims? Are we fighting for the same thing?
That’s what matters to me.
Wild, hoping I’m slowly moving my mother into some freer thinking, but she loves a good dose!!!!
Bitcoin, come for the technology, stay for the NGU. This morning? Go for a bike ride, stay for the view!!!!! Beautiful sort of morning, a chance to head up the local high point after waking early, hit the peak before 7 am, followed by a renegade run down a pretty empty footpath. Gotta say, I can see why downhill mountain biking is a thing.
Back home, no one appears to be awake after a late night with some general anguish from the girls. Maybe time for a quick #coffeechain before anyone joins me, then breakfast for my mother so she can have a lie in. Not because I have to, but because I get to. 🫡🙌 @nprofile…dvqw

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on Naib Bukele.
And to show Bitcoiners, that El Slavador maby did not just make Bitcoin a legal tender and made it popular through the use of chivo wallet. El Salvador might simply installed a centralized control layer over Bitcoin.
So maby it is actually catching control over a country in the name of freedom money.

I assume surveillance as written in surveillance capitalism 😉
It was done right on a gold standard. Gold is hard to extract in the first place. Paper note or coins made out of shitty materials aren't hard to obtain. That was my point.
It's my favorite for sure!
Maby you could also reach out to me on whitenoise, when you would like to talk in private.

Would your business keep running?
Or would everyone suddenly discover they’re the only person who knows how something works?
That’s an operational blind spot.
Most businesses don’t have a people problem.
They have a visibility problem.
I built Blind Spot Map to help founders uncover the hidden dependencies that quietly create bottlenecks, risk, and operational chaos.

What you mean with tangible examples? When police and military need not court order to intrud your privacy.
This alone makes critical reporting against police, military or the regime unlikely up to impossible without getting enprisoned.
And with all the false positives, police can easily hide such cases behind false positives.
For me the tangible evidence of dictatorship seems to be that his regime did not come back to warrant based search.
And when politicians can assume to not be save opposing this martial law openly, then one can not reasonable expect the parlament to act as a guardian over the president.
Too bad it’s also really slow..

I think the thing is, Jimmy, that there isn't really an anti-BIP-110 side so much as a 'this is a useless futile attempt and we're gonna make fun of you for wasting your energy' side and a pro-BIP-110 side.
Like...it may break a small set of presigned tx's. And that's reckless only because it doesn't do anything it tries to.
Jpeg's? Still there -- so much for CSAM
Ordinals? 1% cheaper -- congrats.
Runes? Yea, still there.
Do I need to freak out if it activates though? No -- it really only affects me at all if it's a really messy activation and I transact during those hours. So yea, there's no URSF for good reason there.
The noise has more to do with addressing the myriad inaccuracies. 'One node one vote.' 'Soft forks don't cause splits.' 'Core changed Bitcoin.' There's a lot of utter BS being spread around through some pretty loud megaphones. Not sure what the goal of militarizing the ignorant here has been but it's not something I intend ti sit back about. The code itself is whatever. I think it highly unlikely to do anything but if a miner surprises me with their lack of rational self interest toward self preservation it wouldn't shock me too much. It's an obvious bluff with minimal economic weight and will just evaporate unless miners collude to edge out competition using a chainsplit to do it. Something they could always do, and something that is akin to a double spend 51% attack. But being sure about what humans will do is a fool's errand.
You aren't obligated to jump in though fwiw. It'll resolve itself anyway. And I'm sure you'd rather not let something this silly destroy friendships. Besides, 110'ers are going to need a node to run when they come back, and they're a great pool to build a userbase from given they sure won't be looking to adopt Core.
So yea, I think you're being smart. A more diplomatic road than I take, but hardly one you have to diverge from. Curious to see what y'all come up with.

1. Iran attacks Gulf states and shipping after seventh night of U.S. strikes
-- Iran renewed attacks on U.S. Gulf allies and said it stopped four vessels in the Strait of Hormuz after U.S. forces struck military sites and enforced a naval blockade.
-- With one-fifth of global oil supply routed through Hormuz, the widening fight over commercial transit pushed Brent up 4.3% to $88.26 and increases disruption risk for energy and shipping markets.
2. Ukrainian drone strike kills seven at Moscow logistics center
-- A Ukrainian attack involving about 370 drones killed seven night-shift workers and wounded 24 at a logistics center near Moscow, according to a Russian local official cited by France 24.
-- The scale and reach of the barrage increase security risk for civilian supply chains far inside Russia, threatening warehouse capacity and regional deliveries.
3. Iran-linked mobile tracking targets U.S. personnel during war
-- Attempts to track U.S. military personnel exploited regional roaming networks and advertising technology, with some activity linked to an Iranian mobile operator, Citizen Lab reported.
-- Real-time location data obtained through SS7 access or commercial ad systems could reveal troop movements without compromising hardened military networks, turning ordinary phones into operational-security liabilities.
4. WordPress core flaw enables unauthenticated remote code execution
-- A newly disclosed vulnerability allows anonymous requests to execute code on default WordPress 6.9 and 7.0 installations; fixes shipped in versions 6.9.5 and 7.0.2.
-- Because exploitation requires neither credentials nor a vulnerable plugin, the flaw creates immediate security risk for unpatched sites and exposes customer data and web infrastructure to takeover.

So happy to see you reporting on Bukele as critical as it needs to be done for any leader in the world.
And when chivo is censored, while being the most popular wallet in the country. Then Bitcoin is no freedom money in El Salvador.
And the El Salvador is not the salvador of Bitcoin.
07/11/2026 Justin M. Ptak
