Short answer: Meshcore can handle 64 hops, Meshtastic only 7. Meshcore has better scalability for large networks.
Long-winded answer (I can't help myself) It's been a debate my group's been having. The conclusion I'm coming to is that Meshtastic makes the most sense until you get near 1,000 active users. Larger networks can overwhelm and clog communication, which Meshcore can circumvent better.
This can be handled by simply using different channels on Meshtastic rather than just LongFast but then how do new users know to use these different channels idk. NoVa Mesh went that route.
I think Meshcore is messy drama currently and prefer to wait and see. I did switch one of my nodes to Meshcore to support the folks who want to explore that. I try to direct their curiosity towards reticulum as I think that's going to be much more useful but is even more obscure.

Rufous Hummingbirds bring a whole new energy to the woods during their visits — adorable aggression.
It isn't uncommon for this small hummingbird to take on birds many times its size if it feels its territory is threatened. Rufous Hummingbirds have incredibly long migration journeys for such a small bird, so the fact that it still has energy to put its feathery dukes up is quite impressive.
