Moderation and database, I’d say. Self-hosting for yourself doesn’t need moderation, but the moment you allow others to upload, you have a legal obligation to do it or face jail time. CSAM reporting obligations are also a hard one, and cannot just ignore it for the same reason. Lastly maintaining an always-on service can be a hustle, and ensuring tracking of security issues and such. I am sure I am forgetting a few more, but this is a good starter.
Bitcoin stays confusing the hell out of me. On one hand it is a group of deeply unhealthy and toxic people who behave like adult children.
Simultaneously, it is a collective of the most intelligent, grounded, and principled people I have ever met.
