Mon avis sur le BIP–110
Éviter de stocker des data sur la blockchain Bitcoin est quasi impossible : les petits malins arrivent à stocker des données dans le SegWit (pas top, et c'est là qu'il y a le plus de place au prix le plus bas — donc le plus attractif pour la data) ou pire, dans une fausse adresse de réception qui sera stockée par tous les nœuds pour toujours, sans aucune possibilité de dépenser les UTXO utilisés.
Au moins, dans le OP_RETURN, c'est fait pour cela. Les clients peuvent décider de ne pas stocker ces données sans trop de conséquences sur les fonctionnalités. De plus, cela permet des utilisations avancées de Bitcoin comme les timelocks pour Lightning, du miniscript pour les conditions de paiement (très utile pour les cas de gestion en entreprise ou pour les héritages) et également les smart contracts off-chain type RGB (qui pourrait enterrer pas mal de shitcoins une fois adopté).
Autant je n'aime pas stocker des JPG de singes (ni même de chats), autant je pense que de donner la possibilité d'avoir des cas d'usage plus légitimes liés à la finance justifie largement le fait de permettre des utilisations moins utiles. Ce débat est au cœur de la controverse autour du BIP-110, une proposition de soft fork temporaire actuellement en signaling. Et au final, les frais feront le tri : ceux qui en font une utilisation sans grande valeur ajoutée arrêteront de payer tôt ou tard, comme ce fut le cas des ordinals qui ont nettement diminués et arrêtés de tirer les frais vers le haut.
