Isn't this just a design choice? Don't offer on-chain zaps as an option unless the zap amount greater dust.

it seems to me that 70% of the functionality in Amethyst should be separated out into other apps,
but otoh @nprofile…9k9u thinks users should have a separate client if they want to use other payment systems besides LN.
which seems excessive.
so besides designing your own app with the functionality you want....

Do you at some point transfer the sats you receive as Zaps into your cold storage? Do you then pay something else from that cold storage without careful coin control?

otoh i dont think this particular thing compromise that.
it IS another thing/button.
but its better to have a button to configure my preferred payment/zap methods,
than to have multiple clients, one for each payment method I want to use.
iow, its not that "an app should support every possible usecase,"
its that different value transfer methods shouldn't require a separate app to use.
so I'm glad theres a NIP for this.
but if you don't care to clutter damus with nonbitcoin value transfer stuff, that's fair.
The events are cached, so it sometimes needs a refresh to speed up the update
