I don't know if any relay or client is actually acting on pow on notes, which to me tells me that there's not a real use case out there but developer self-satisfaction. Not to say there may never be any, but it also may remain very niche imo.

The Southern Crown (Corona Australis) dazzles with young and ancient celestial jewels. The Corona Australis Cloud is a collage of reflection and emission nebulae on the left of today’s image . At 430 light years away, this cloud is one of the closest star-forming regions to Earth. It contains gas cool enough (-260 Celsius or -440 Fahrenheit) to collapse into protostars . Recently formed stars paint blue hues across the cloud as their light reflects off surrounding material. The waltz of the R Coronae Australis binary system stirs up the nebula NGC 6729 . The younger of the pair ionizes nearby gas with its ultraviolet light, causing it to glow. The Chandelier Cluster (NGC 6723) dangles from the top right, but is actually tens of thousands of light years farther away than its apparent star-forming neighbor. While NGC 6723 experienced multiple periods of star formation creating slightly younger stars, the chandelier twinkles with stars almost as old as the universe.

I’m at this hotel. I go to order this “fast break” meal that is scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and crispy bacon. They tell me it’s not available because it’s too late in the day. So I individually order 4 poached eggs, hashbrowns, and crispy bacon. Check mate.
Short term for processing, there are bottle necks
Most notes published with PoW don't take more than a fraction of a second to mine, and any bot can attach PoW. It's mainly a spam filter, but not any kind of Proof of Real or Human or an indicator that the content is any good.
And most high signal notes come from clients that don't have PoW as an option. I personally don't really see the value.

Script kiddies who can suddenly generate much, much larger "scripts" than ever before, but with the exact same dynamics as before.
People who know what each line of code does in a system still have an edge in a post-AI world. It's just that there is exponentially more code that is not understood by anyone that's running live. I get depressed when I think about it but it's not exactly new. It's exactly what you'd expect from an industry that already pushed code it mostly didn't understand, and now has the tools to do it faster.
It's much easier to know what your code does if you plan and write it yourself, and remain present and mindful as it grows, even if you do leverage AI tools, and stay close to the code and its details. And that has always been true.
