why are 3rd world countries so scary, why do they leave the heads on the fish, why leave the heads and feet on the shrimp, why eat the feet of the chickens and why eat everything that moves like Japan.
this world is too scary
So, it’s fully automated, but it retains all of the work already done on LN and avoids incompatibility and mint management issues.
They need to set up npub.cash for receive, which *can be fully automated by the client including claiming new tokens that are received*. That’s the thing.
This would be a server that anyone can host just like mints work right now (and can be integrated into them)
For send, you need no setup either way, as you can just use a pile of Cashu tokens out of the box with some good way of picking mints.
So, to the user, it is still just “get started” and done, but it still retains compatibility
#1) Barter board, something like Facebook marketplace without Facebook or old school Craigslist. I'm working on something but the simple fact is there's a lot of federal law reasons why that isn't happening already. Folks get very uppity about it.
#2) Emergency communication. How to call for help in a grid down situation due to storms or whatever. A big part of why I've thrown myself into LoRa mesh.
#3) FOSS solutions to being trapped in Windows, although they won't know enough to put it like that. We have a Linux cafe as part of our repair cafe program.
(And this is not even to mention that they would have to occassionally switch over to the npub.cash tab in their browser... vs just staying in the streaming app 100% of the time!)

This was a canary signal imo.
What happened a year ago to make Mr. GFY himself give up the ALL CAPS that made him a free man on a free protocol?
Bring back the caps or blink twice if you can't.

so a nostr client that wishes to have payments embedded in its ui - say it's a streaming platform where you get paid per minute by viewers or pay per minute as a viewer - would need to get a brand-new user to **take some action** to set up npub.cash in order to send first? compared to nutzaps where they could send instantly on "signup" to the app without touching anything else.
do you see my point? i can't tell if i'm not making this clear or you are continuously avoiding addressing this use-case head on...
You're giving away 21,000 Bitcoin?
How can you afford this?
📺 [ #GaMeTiMe ] How does this even happen?! 🤯

I am the enemy not by choice but out of necessity.
The world needs someone to demonize, and unfortunately that’s me.
In such, I have become The Blasphemer, I destroy their gods, and idols, and turn them into dust.
No idea, or belief is truly sacred to me.

people make fun of the Chinese for eats bugs, but people eat shrimp and they are technically bugs of the ocean!
I didn't know what shrimp actually looked like until I went to China because in Canada they sell them with the heads and legs so they don't look like bugs. I got scared when I saw them in China, I didn't know how to eat them and was wondering why they looked scary and gross.

As always I encourage to download models, even big ones, from HauhauCS, Heretic, mradermacher and other projects, even if its not possible to run them right now because of a weaker hardware.
I'm guessing the point is that any miner that has opinions on Bitcoin is an attacker
Attackers should stay humble and manage energy and heat, and maximize fees via techniques such as Cluster Mempool

On Silent Payments, I'm getting much more optimistic in the last hour or so, since deciding to dig into more detail. Seems like about 150 KB per block (BIP158 filter + 33 bytes per tx) is sufficient in terms of bandwidth. And this table of CPU-only scan times is much better than I expected.
There is room for further bandwidth improvements. According to the BIP (352), if you want a couple of weeks a huge fraction of relevant UTXOs are already spent, and so the 150KB can be shrunk further by discarding transactions which no longer have any unspent taproot outputs.
It's still not realistic for everybody, especially noobs, to run their own 'sovereign scanner' like this. But it's interesting nonetheless.
