I want people to critically think.

📰 **Clarity Act Update**
✍️ by Rhodes
Here’s what the optimism won’t tell you: Polymarket odds for CLARITY passing in 2026 have collapsed to **23%**, down from **82% in February**. The Senate has until **Friday, Aug. 7** to act before the August recess, and lawmakers won’t return until **Sept. 14**. But here’s the twist that changes everything—some of the smartest people in crypto are saying failure might actually be *better* for innovation. You’ll want to understand why before you make your next move.

Multi-coin vendors unaffected by the brutal past few weeks/months in crypto.
Z-cash, Monero, & Bitcoin all hit the bed hard, luckily Litecoin, BCH, ETH, etc. we’re still up!

📰 **What happened this week in the Bitcoin World**
✍️ by NM team
You probably think Bitcoin’s quiet summer lull means nothing’s happening. The data says otherwise. US spot Bitcoin ETFs was busy—while retail search interest cratered to a five-year low of just 18 on Google Trends. But here’s what the mainstream coverage isn’t telling you: while institutions are quietly accumulating, a war is brewing over Bitcoin’s very soul—and if you’re not paying attention to what happens next, you might miss the signal you need, read on!

Nostur, he started using Nostur because I mentioned it.
Sorry, didn’t write the note out completely for some reason 🙃.
Fun Fact: Nothing Ever Happens
Did 0xChat get pulled for the iOS App Store…
TestFlight expired…
Any time I attempted to have a technical discussion with literally anyone supporting bip110 I was met with insults and accusations instead of logic and reason. They don't understand bitcoin security or consensus model or even their own proposal well enough to discuss it, everything is emotional.
My brain feels less ouchie achy foggy hatey, it feels more clear, better, & optimistic.
I think things are improving, yes the world is on fire, and burning, & yes everyone is dying but if I can get on a little raft, & keep myself safe then let the world burn because afterwards it will be beautiful when it all grows back.
Just a part of the natural process 🤗.
The questions knots raised were / are 100% valid questions.
Seems the wider community just didn't care.
BIP110 was a wrong solution to a valid problem. This has been stated by many great minds in bitcoin.
The problem was it was also the *only* solution.
That puts real plebs in a difficult situation and creating the choice of "bad" or "worse".
I think core is "worse", but enough people didn't agree.
I think bip110 enforced the way it was, was horrible, but for me personally, I'd rather do that and win the rest of the community over than do nothing at all.
Samson Mow said on The bitcoin podcast, paraphrasing "core made the change, i didnt agree with it and gave them shit for it, but its done, they already did it, its over, so I moved on and stopped talking about it"
That doesnt sit well with me, to just say "ok, ill continue running your code"
And thats the feeling and attitude that pushed me to want something else.
I personally feel that "something else" was just running knots instead.
Clearly the BIP110 part of things was not the right call.
I think we as bitcoiners just need to be and do better.
And that's not even the worst part.
I would say it would be great when more people learn to be cool having different preferences. When I like to use tool A and you have your preference for B, I can might explain what has lead me to A. But in the end I am happy with whatever preference you leave the conversation.
Not even the Big O who funded it uses it 🙃.
He started using I think because of my notes.
It’s plausible other people suggested it to him but I feel low-key he reads my notes from time to time, since he makes subtle hints about things I’ve talked about prior.
One can decide differently. This is not toxicity, it’s simply different preference.

🗞️ **BREAKING**
What Happened This Week In The Nostr World
Between August 3 and August 8 alone, the protocol saw four high-severity security advisories published, a new NIP merged for labeling, and a major client release that fundamentally changes how users control their keys. But here’s what the headlines aren’t telling you: while the security researchers were sounding alarms, developers were quietly shipping the most important account recovery mechanism Nostr has ever seen, read on and find out!

No one should be using primal any more…
But everyone wants to keep using that crap…
It's constantly under attack, which is what you'd expect
Quite being a cheap ass and buy a bigger hard drive…
Also running a node isn’t for everyone…
True there are limits one simply does not cross. When such limits are crossed I block this person.
I am comparing each week with the previous week's total users in the graph.
No you are not. That is an important question. :-)
7025 is not the total number of users. In the graph you can see the increased users or decreased users each week. That's the increment or decrement of total users. Not Total users this far.

Obviously it's not, but this killed all organized opposition. The spammers got what they wanted. Core can continue the road they're on and nothing's there to stop them now. This attempt was dead on arrival. Like a joke. Everything else is coping now. Bitcoin is not money in the first place anymore. It's rainbow Ethereum. The plebs with their raspberry pis lost.
One day, when normies can no longer run their own node at home because it requires far too large data storage to store all the non-monetary data, that is being mined and therefore only runs on large and expensive government-owned centralized nodes, they will understand why BIP-110 was ever a wake-up call in 2026.

I think The American healthcare system works quite fine honestly.
Everyone likes to larp like only the rich have access to healthcare.
Yes, it is expensive but considering medical debt is different than consumer debt, you can basically ignore it since most of it go to probonos, is negotiated down, or the debt is written off as a loss.
Overall, most people can go to the hospital.
Is it perfect, no but many gov healthcare systems like Canada, and The UK have been privatizing too recently.
The ideal is a preventative approach overall but it’s whatever, you can only do what you can do for yourself.

not forget conventional bombing over tokyo at the time killed 100,000+ japanese.
but using NUKE on mass civilians directly is key factor why it still need to be remembered today.
August 9 marks the 81st anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing, a tragedy that showed the devastating impact of nuclear warfare.
A US B-29 bomber dropped “Fat Man,” a 4.5-ton plutonium-based atomic bomb, killing an estimated 74,000 people and injuring tens of thousands more.

Once again 🇯🇵leadership failed to mention that 🇺🇸 dropped the bomb
👉 Dropping a bomb over entire industrial city did not do any direct military impact at the time (psycho pressure only -japan military had setback by then in other front as soviets entered from east). It was pressure just bomb water electric hospital other civilian infra just like happening in iran bombing today. 🇺🇸 did not win just from dropping of atom bomb only. may the ciafactbook will say so.
