@nprofile…ag7g asking to understand... at least because my own stance isn't that strong, but I'm willing to change that. I've hesitated in my own usage, but I also wouldn't be surprised if I actually used that word. This note has given me pause to reconsider the contexts where I see it.
I know edgy humor can go too far. But I don't think the main usage is directed at people with intellectual disabilities.
The memes on here that I take in good faith use it positively and negatively. Positively, you have it to unify, like the word pleb. Negatively, it is used as stupidity - like even the smartest among us can be very stupid.
Kids using it in their class... yeah, often the aim is to hurt. Adults using it towards each other, more ambiguous. Of course I've seen memes that go overboard.
Not defending, but I'm going out on a limb for my own clarity, showing how I view it.

People don’t want to admit that Bitcoin was not perfect from conception. They’d rather bend over backwards justifying its shortcomings (lack of privacy) than recognize them and accept trade off solutions.
I think he knew. But he was hoping people would evolve the system to make it happen. Not to make it so complicated and ugly that everyone would need a third party to use.
