Binance put a monitoring tag on STX on July 24, and the Endowment's write-up is worth reading before anyone spirals: it is not a delisting, and it does not restrict spot trading, deposits or withdrawals. It's a periodic review, triggered by questions about issuance under SIP-045, and it landed while parts of the Endowment's data were still moving through Binance's internal process. The committee looks at it again in a matter of weeks.
Their published numbers: issuance goes from ~6.4% to 7.82% post-upgrade, 7.85% in 2027, declining after that — still under the 8.17% five-year median across the 50 largest networks.
Here's the part I keep thinking about. The upgrade that raised the questions is the one I'm most excited about. SIP-045 activates Bitcoin Staking and takes PoX to its fifth version, and pox-5 is the trustless design Fast Pool has wanted from the very beginning — rewards reaching members without the pool having to hold them and hand them on. Not a feature bolted on late. It's the thing this pool has been walking toward since cycle 3.
If you stack with a pool, the timing that matters: we're in cycle 139, cycle 140 starts at Bitcoin block 960,050 (~2 days), and the fork activates mid-cycle at block 960,230. Re-stake during cycle 140 and your cycle 141 starts trustless.
