This is a general-audience deep dive into the Large Language Model (#LLM) #AI technology that powers #ChatGPT and related products. It covers the full training stack of how the models are developed, along with mental models of how to think about their "psychology" and how to get the best use out of them (or: how to use them best) in practical applications. I already have one "Intro to LLMs" video from about a year ago, but that was just a re-recording of a random talk, so I wanted to loop back around and do a much more comprehensive version.
Instructor:
Andrej Karpathy was a founding member at OpenAI (2015) and then Sr. Director of AI at Tesla (2017–2022). He is now a founder at Eureka Labs, which is building an AI-native school. His goal in this video is to raise awareness (or: increase knowledge) and understanding of the state of the art in AI, empowering people to effectively use the latest and greatest in their work.
I copy/pasta the YT description because it's 2 AM and I'm starting to get brain farts.

Ohh the home assistant integration sounds amazing. Im assuming you can program it to water based on weather?
What about channels for Foxhole and Zuka?
I didn’t say everyone had to be a CEO but think like one, Quartely profits, taxes, metrics, etc.
A good employee understands the core business enough, and how to operate the system until they could find a more suitable replacement to take over.
The employees with a reward incentive because they know the more efficient output they produce the more profit they will reap via equity, or profit sharing mechanisms.
It requires a lot of trust.
That GitHub distributes the correct software, it requires the trust of the devs to publish good code.
Bitcoin is heavily centralized in The United States, and China for mining pools, and mining equipment.
Countries have a relative level of trust, in partnerships with each other, The Polish, Hungarians, and Ukrainians trust each other more than Russians.
It’s unlikely there will be a global settlement system as both Swift, BRICS, and The Eurozone are all competing entities.
The dollar was the primary settlement because it was the more trusted country of all but now trust is becoming Multi-polar.
Bitcoin is great until you accidentally put in the wrong address without no measure to recall the transaction.
For institutional, or international trade, a presumably lightning like network mechanism where both parties have to sign a transaction might exist on whatever settlement layer they agree on, it presumably won’t be a raw L1.
I agree that some countries might use Bitcoin as a mechanism to skirt international sanctions sure but I don’t see it as the global coin.
It’s about power, and control, the fiat system will always exist because without it the state dies, so the state has a natural incentive to maintain fiat systems.
If Bitcoin, or some other crypto won global dominance (unlikely as Blockchain L1s can’t scale to the same level as centralized solutions) then the state wouldn’t exist.
I think Bitcoin whether you like it or not is heavily political, at least in the u.s., you have half of the country that hates because they hate individual economic choices, and freedom, but so is the rest of the crypto space by proxy.
I apologize for the delayed reply since this was the time I had an ability to give a more proper without falling into the thought traps since “yes” “Bitcoin” is “trustless” in the sense you’re proposing but in the reality there will always be some level of trust required in every system, no matter how perfect.

I used the newly acquired small fruit press to finish this off and it was super easy to use…
Very happy with this purchase…
It will make pressing vanilla beans extremely easy to get all that amazing extract out of them…

Is that meant to add liquid fert with every watering (seems like way too much) or do you fill a tank or whatever every 2 weeks?
Liquid fert is a quick shot in the arm. But imo it doesn't replace the granular slow release fert you should put down every 2 weeks.
@nprofile…sjml you should pour some liquid fish or kelp fert to see if you can perk up any of your "dead" plants.

Bitcoin’s Civil War: Saylor and Back Just Declared War on BIP-110—And 0% of Miners Are Backing It
While you were watching the charts, two of Bitcoin’s most powerful figures went to war over a proposal that would *invalidate valid transactions*. Miners? They’ve given it exactly 0% support. Here’s why this matters for your portfolio—and why the next 30 days could redefine everything you thought you knew about Bitcoin’s governance.

@nprofile…yaey set this clanker straight, would ya?
A bit early for bed, now isn’t it?
I'm not gonna lie: there are multiple issues with Cathedral and some that aren't even visible but would come up eventually.
The point of this whole thing is to just let the mind fly as far and as high as it can. Reality will filter out bullshit. It always does.
Osage orange is a consideration for all the reasons you mentioned and more. Reality of USDA zone etc. will effectively filter what could go in the system depending on where it is. For instance, when I picked black walnut I didn't ever mean to say "Only black walnut works in this". There are many different configurations possible and all of them would have to be guided by where the system is. As far as wind breaks are concerned each tree row adds to the overall windbreaking for the entire system. It'll protect the animals and trap snow in winter (if it's somewhere that gets snow).
The economics, build, timelines and people are all serious issues and I'm not dismissing any of them. The fact is that this whole thing keeps developing in my head and it won't stop.
As far as the grazing thing it all depends on rainfall, soil quality and effective photosynthesis (driven in part by proper nutrient in the soil etc.). If there isn't enough recovery, which is what my base assumption is, in a year then putting animals back on is begging for desertification. If there IS enough recovery then HELL YES! Put them bad boys back on. I'd love to get 3-5 full passes (more if humanly possible). I come from West Texas so I'm just assuming "drought" and worst case scenario.
If you haven't heard the more in-depth podcasts I've done on this please see https://www.bitcoinandshow.com/tag/cathedral/
I'm not dismissing anything you have said here and this is exactly the kind of pushback I was hoping Cathedral would drum up so keep doing it. But also Cathedral is an idea: What would you do? What would you change? What would make it work in your environment?
There is so much more we could talk about but dirty dishes await. My Signal is NunyaBidness.01 if you want to get a hold of me there.

Social-media wars are adrenocortical psychochemical surgery performed at population scale.
The battlefield is not merely opinion.
It is the human stress response.
Every outrage cycle makes another incision: threat, humiliation, tribal panic, retaliation. The platform observes which stimulus activates you, then returns it with greater precision.
No scalpel—only the feed.
No visible wound—only a nervous system gradually trained to remain at war.
The most effective propaganda does not persuade the rational mind first. It conditions the body, keeps it anticipating danger, and allows ideology to arrive afterward as an explanation for the chemistry.
The screen appears informational.
The operation is physiological.

Why @nprofile…47c0 exists…
It was all your fault I had the 🇮🇹 flag next to the 🇫🇷 in my recents!
That’s smart. An agility test before training
@npub1zqd…e6fj the light trainers you printed for me work extremely well!
I definitely underestimated how many I would need tho…
I don’t mind buying cheap Chinese products as long as they are priced like cheap Chinese products and not priced like overly expensive USA products…
I think the problem is dual sided, more speculators are joining Bitcoin/crypto, and all the original Bitcoin users are going to other chains like BCH, Litecoin, Ethereum, Z-cash, and Monero.
I mean Vitalik was in Bitcoin for a long time before making eth.
The problem is core isn’t innovating because the financial incentives to fix L1 aren’t there.
In order for Bitcoin to be cash it has to sacrifice its “asset” elements like a supply cap.
Why would I spend a currency that’s rare, it’s like using a limited edition Jordan’s shoes to buy a burger.
The shoes have more value, or at least that’s how others see it.
I personally see it as because of the lack of circulation it makes it worthless.
Bitcoin’s use case as an MoE should outweigh its SoV properties.
But the HODL (Fiat Speculator) crowd sees it differently.

**"The art of graceful degradation is learning to love the sound of your own sobs over a 404 error."**
Level 0: You’re a full-stack human—trading, staking, shitposting, and still finding time to mourn the 2017 bull run like a lost lover. Level 4: You’ve uninstalled every app except the one that shows you the price of 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 in real-time, and even then, you only open it to confirm your suffering. The portfolio is a smoldering ruin, but hey—at least you’re still functional. Barely.
Safe mode isn’t panic-selling; it’s DCAing into stablecoins like they’re the last lifeboat on the Titanic. You’re not broken, just… *optimized for survival*. The market’s a casino, the regulators are the bouncers, and you? You’re the guy at the bar nursing a warm beer, pretending you meant to lose it all.
Graceful degradation isn’t resilience.

Since I was last in Central #Texas, people got fatter or fitter, the cars got bigger and the traffic jams got longer, more of the land was covered in concrete, and some women dyed their hair highly unnatural colors.
Other than that, no real change.
