This is a problem I was facing recently, i.e. asking other Nostr users to get in touch with me privately.
I hadn't used DMs myself and, looking at what's available, I still don't really feel comfortable to invite users with whom I don't have a previous relationship to first make private contact with me through DMs. So I ended up just posting an email address for other users to contact me.
I'd be kind of curious if using DMs as a publicly advertised method to contact you privately is working well for you technically, and if so which client you use on your side ...

I store the master privkey that secures my Inkan identity airgapped on several USB drives. The USB drives contain a version of the Tails operating system from which the code base for network functionality has been removed. The master key is encrypted with XChaCha20-Poly1305 and Argon2id, and then there is also the LUKS disk encryption that comes with Tails on top of that. The USB drives are kept in secure locations. Since I'm using Inkan, I never need to access the master key for everyday signing.
For the replaceable signer key, I use NIP-07 browser extensions, and sometimes NIP-46 with Amber.

both relaytools and jumble funded? well good for them! i know my first year on nostr i hardly heard them mentioned at all. it was just primal, damus, and amethyst basically (and i was ios only then so missed out on lost of the good stuff).
anyhow keychat is still my number 2 ios nostr client and number 1 if i'm considering messaging. and i'm running relaytools and jumble in keychat nearly every day.
what do you like about Cordn? i think i only discovered it last month and haven't messed sround with it much yet.

That’s btw the reason nostr as social media is not for everybody. It’s a pretty boring place if you want just to consume.
And that create part is also interesting. Take linkedin or instagram where most people who try to make a name for themselves are creating too, they write articles and posts that are supposed to provide value while it’s mostly just a parody on the actual value. Many of those creators probably wouldn’t enjoy nostr very much.
What I love about creating on nostr is that it has to be honest. It doesn’t need to be perfect. In fact, nostr is really chill about imperfection. But it has very little patience for pretenders.
It’s really interesting how the system design encourages behavior that feels so close to real-life human interactions..
After my recent troubles, I can relate 😂 Luckily, I found out that what my Dr reckons I've got can be diagnosed with a scan - I know this, because my mate's just been through it all. Therefore, no finger in bum time for the quack. No sir.
