NIP 4e is interesting but is rotating the encryption key regularly really a good idea?
If you decouple encryption from you main key and rotate encryption keys at will, there's no punishment to leaking conversations because revealing the message does not reveal the peer's main private key, just that disposable encryption key.

Breek sdk powers many bitcoin wallets. They are rolling out a way to store seed phares that is identical to how we already storing nostr keys at https://44billion.net
They use a client-side passkeys flow so that you don't have to remember your seed, although you may export it at anytime.
However, we went a step further to make sure we can never steal your keys even if we wanted to. The vault (login module) is on a separate domain we don't control. By default it is on Github Pages. You may point to your own fork there or to your self hosted version anywhere by changing the url on the settings page!

You kinda asked what was https://44billion.net so I'll hijack this post to explain it.
What if instead of an everything app, you had a website that is just a dock/toolbar where you "install" all nostr apps you like and access them easily with the same account? App discovery is achieved with the pre-installed app store.
The theory is that when you have all nostr apps at one place, you don't need a super app.
Let me know if you have any concerns/questions/issues if you test it.

I try to make it easy to grasp when talking about it because I think people would consider the details very boring, but devs may check the code that was made open-source recently https://github.com/44Billion/44b-relay. I'm happy to answer questions about it.
It's a mistery to me the reason why most people, specially nostr devs, show no interest. I stopped mentioning people on posts or advertising on their posts to avoid annoying them hehe.
The best I can do is post about it from time to time to my small follow base.

The wss://relay.44billion.net relay and the https://44billion.net platform are separate things, you can add just the relay as write/read relay (you need to find the relay configuration page on your nostr app of choice). Who runs it shouldn't matter much, but it's me.
This relay explanation: By people naturally requesting content from their follows and clicking around, they help the relay to know who are the interesting pubkeys and who aren't. The uninteresting pubkeys tend to generate spam/ads. The relay by default won't send these when you're checking your notifications, seeing post replies or the relay feed.
If people start picking just relays with spam protection such as that one, Nostr experience improves.

I like nostria a lot cause it's feature-rich. But I'd like to use it inside my platform (it acts as a nip07 ext), which only works with nostr apps that are static websites that runs fully client-side.
But when I checked your code here https://github.com/nostria-app/nostria I saw many mentions of SSR (server-side rendering).
By any chance is there a build script for production usage that makes it work fully client-side?

If yes, your nsite is also a napp.
In this case, there's this cli that will upload your static website to the pubkey's blossom servers (as nsites) and also publish an app listing event at the same time automatically. https://github.com/44Billion/nappup
By the way, I'm using relay.nosto.re for the @npub1t29…vsrw (nsite/napp) uploads now. I think its yours isn't it? Is there some whitelist or something, may I keep using it or is it for personal use?

Ok i've just tested it:

It is deleting events correctly.
Isn't it another relay that is keeping your notes around? Jumble has a button on each note on the bottom right to check where it found the note

This NIP was renamed to "scrolls".
That's a good time to ELI5 it for you all non-devs.
We had @npub1era…skz0 spells and they were good. But now anyone that isn't a wizard can consume a scroll and cast a single spell (fireball etc), which is great news for us regular humans.

Could you also post an "app listing" event, considering jumble is a nsite but also a nostr app (because it supports nip07)? If you can find the time it would help me a lot with testing.

@npub1jlr…ynqn I ask you to please try https://44billion.net/ with a new npub created there. if the log in popup doesn't open, reload the page (sorry it's beta, i need to fix things) - use an up-to-date browser that works with passkeys
then please open the app store and install any app there. all these apps were manually patched on a fork of mine to call `peekPublicKey` on load.
do the same with another npub. switch accounts and try any app.
at the end tell me if you can't feel the magic of `peekPublicKey` yet

It would be interesting to read a contrary opinion, although unlikely.
A curious fact: I was just browsing the cashu repo and read a comment suggesting that in the future they may have to represent amounts in nanosats instead of millisats (which is already a unit 1000x smaller than what is officially considered the smallest unit of bitcoin) as if the price of bitcoin was going to rise to the moon.
Dishonesty or pipe dream?

"Hardened Events use event kind 30078 because previous interoperability back and forth isn't needed to pick the effective event kind" - quote from a draft NIP.
The most grotesque side-effect of replaceable/addressables events shows up when you test a new bugged app and it wipes your follow list as soon as you add a new follow! Imagine if Facebook (in the good times) was on Nostr and you suddenly lose all your hand-picked FB follows due to a bug on another nostr app 😱
In an effort to fix this once and for all, I created a spec called "Hardened Events" that accidentally reverses the current school of thought from NIP repo maintainers of making atleast two clients interop before they (maybe - add politics to the soup) merge your NIP with these new event kinds you picked so that other people won't try using the same event kinds for other things.
Now it's like: you pick a string as event kind prefixed with your app name or anything else. If someone wants to interop, they look at what events your client is producing and adopt'em. I kinda appreciate the outcome, it feels more organic.
Though it's an (unintended) attack on Nostr. All new (effective) event kinds would use `kind 30078` as anchor. And to the despair of some, all newly created event kinds would be editable. Absolutely outrageous or ingenious? Not sure yet.

My project was a big one meant for making nostr "normie"-friendly:
1) new (and secure) way to sign in/up that your grandma would understand
2) multi-window and multi-user app launcher platform that makes any nostr webapp installable with pinned version, auto-login and more
3) three starter apps: app store, messenger (unreleased spec superior to nip-17 while 99x easier to reason about than marmot), twitter-like client hiding nostr complexity
4) relay with some smart data aggregation which today is the 44 relay
5) new kind of relay for backup/sync/availability (data sovereignty)
Most of it is online at an alpha/beta state, not just an idea, though the development halted for now.

The current nostr board most likely simply let my application rotten till auto-rejection. I can only speculate, though it was really sus to be rejected with an auto-generated email right after I sent them one (kindly) asking them for feedback as it was taking so long.

I'll add that bitcoin (lightning in fact) for its huge network effect is a great bridge to get off of fiat because it kills the "Chargeback Monster". But you alway can (and need to) get off of bitcoin back to fiat, and that's what makes it forever volatile. Governments will never let us use solely bitcoin everywhere, like 1 sat will cost 1 sat.. no, 1 sat will most likely forever cost a dynamic USD (or other stable currency of the moment) value. It's very hard to justify betting your future in the stack sats NGU mindset. It's purely betting. [And at this exact part I lose half of my followers ^^]

Google or other big player does could capture Nostr by luring norms to their unlimited-ish storage infra that would end up working only with a very convinient "Sign-in with Google" flow.
But Nostr soul is the relay. It was (somewhat) successful because of relays being easy to connect to from any platform. If someone could turn it into a fast P2P protocol that was just as easy to code and reason about that would be great and could avoid the likely Nostr dark fate.
